Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) ventures into Southeast Asia for the first time ever at ITB Asia. During the event, Azerbaijan will take this great opportunity to welcome Asian travelers to “Take Another Look” at Azerbaijan and encourage travelers to explore the country’s rich cultural offerings and experience its ancient heritage.

Attending ITB Asia 2019 is a part of Azerbaijan Tourism Board’s strategy to explore collaboration opportunities with Asia’s travel agencies to roll out multi-destination tourism products, as well as to introduce diverse travel resources and experiences to visitors in the Asia market.

Southeast Asia is an emerging market with huge potential for travel. In 2018, Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam) alone recorded 77 million in outbound departures from and is expecting an exponential growth of 40% by 2023. Making its inaugural appearance in Asia would help ATB gain insights to this growing market and create greater awareness of their destination.

“We are delighted to launch our new brand identity and the ‘Take Another Look’ campaign at the ITB Asia. And we look forward to introducing our destination brand to Asian visitors, enhancing our tourism proposition in the industry, as we continue to provide tourists with unique, authentic experiences that will leave them with lasting memories for a lifetime,” said Florian Sengstschmid, Chief Executive of Azerbaijan Tourism Board.

Moreover, Azerbaijan recently implemented a simplified new electronic visa procedure to allow visitors to easily obtain a visa when travelling to the country. Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia are eligible for visa upon arrival, while Thailand and Vietnam are eligible for the e-visa system.

An Eastern country with a Western outlook, Azerbaijan is an exceptional combination of antiquity and novelty with several sites of interest. As an ideal destination for family holidays, Azerbaijan is supported by a rich history that dates back 5,000 years and a composite culture that has evolved with the passing through of travelers along the Great Silk Road.
