Accor’s Heartist program has been recognised as one of the country’s leading cultural change management programs after winning the ‘Best Change Management Strategy’ category at last week’s annual HR Awards.

The award recognises the role Accor’s comprehensive and multi-faceted Heartist program (derived from Heart+Artist) played in shaping, managing and influencing the Group’s recent organisation change.

Accor Chief Operating Officer Pacific, Simon McGrath, said the need for a dynamic and innovative change management program became more imperative than ever with the Group’s landmark acquisition and integration of Mantra Group.

“Our Heartist program enabled us to bring two incredible teams together, create greater uniformity in culture, and reaffirm our reputation as the hotel group of first choice for aspiring hospitality workers,” said Mr McGrath.

“Our Heartist program aims to build common values and nurture individual strengths – empowering and enabling our team to channel their energies into spreading our Group’s unifying promise – Feel Welcome.

“Our team of HR professionals are absolutely paramount to the overall success of our business, and it’s wonderful to see their hard work and innovative ideas rewarded on such a special night.”

Accor’s Heartist program targets both guests and team members. The program’s commitment is for each guest to be made welcome and each team member to feel valued, recognised, and architects of their own careers.

The 2019 Australian HR Awards were held at The Star Sydney on Friday 6 September. On the night, 20 awards were presented to the most outstanding HR leaders, companies and teams from across Australia.
