Singapore’s Changi Airport has been awarded the ‘World’s Best Airport’ by Skytrax for seven years running and it’s not hard to see why! In addition to being a leader in efficiency and convenience, the airport experience is enhanced with stunning gardens, first-of-its kind attractions, a diverse range of F&B experiences and convenient transit hotels. Most of which are picture perfect!

Location #1: Rain Vortex (Jewel Changi Airport)

  • WHAT: The heart of the new Jewel Changi Airport complex and the world’s tallest indoor waterfall at 40 metres high. The #RainVortex has been hashtagged by almost 5,500 people on Instagram since it opened to the world in April 2019
  • WHERE: To capture the sunshine streaming through the waterfall, producing a rainbow effect, head to Level 4, outside YOTELAIR or for a panoramic shot with the lush Forest Valley in the background, head to Level 2, East Trail
  • TIP: Go between the hours of 3pm to 5pm or wait until it gets dark (7.30pm onwards) for the full effect of the Rain Vortex’s Light & Sound show

Location #2: The Butterfly Garden (Terminal 3, Transit)

  • WHAT: Capture the butterflies taking flight and enjoy the serenity at the Butterfly Garden. The world’s first butterfly garden in an airport is the home to over 40 different species and more than 1,000 tropical butterflies
  • WHERE: Levels 2 and 3, Terminal 3 Transit
  • TIP: Remember to move slowly when trying to capture a picture of our beautiful butterflies, as they are often camera shy

Location #3: Shiseido Forest Valley (Jewel Changi Airport)

  • WHAT: Lose yourself in 4 storeys of lush greenery at the Shiseido Forest Valley, with countless trails to follow, and fauna to ‘snap’
  • WHERE: Entry and exit points at every level of Jewel Changi Airport
  • TIP: Allow half an hour for each trail, for exploration at a comfortable pace with ample time for photo-taking

Location #4: The Sunflower Garden (Terminal 2, Transit)

  • WHAT: Brighten up your stopover with a sunny side! The serene Sunflower Gardens are completed with the majestic view of the runway and aircrafts in the background
  • WHERE: Level 3, Terminal 2
  • TIP: Sunflowers chase the sun from east to west, so we recommend capturing them in the morning or afternoon while they are facing you

Location #5: Hedge Maze (Jewel Changi Airport)

  • WHAT: Get lost amongst the shrubs at Canopy Park, in Singapore’s largest hedge maze
  • WHERE: Level 5, Canopy Park at Jewel
  • TIP: For the optimal vantage spot, stand on the elevated watchtower and capture a birds-eye-view of the Hedge Maze

   Location #6: Canopy Bridge (Jewel Changi Airport)

  • WHAT: Suspended 23 metres above the ground, the Canopy Bridge is the perfect spot to take in the geometric shapes of Jewel’s unique honeycomb-like ceiling. With its glass bottom, and fog emitted at both ends, it’ll feel like you are walking among the clouds
  • WHERE: Level 5, Canopy Park at Jewel
  • TIP: Arguably one of the “best seats in the house”, Canopy Bridge is the perfect spot to capture the heart of Jewel

Location #7: Topiary Walk (Jewel Changi Airport) 

  • WHAT: Discover the beautiful topiary animals hidden within Canopy Park, including the photo-ready orangutans
  • WHERE: Level 5, Canopy Park at Jewel
  • TIP: Sit between the monkeys to complete the sequence, which makes a cute and memorable picture for you and your loved ones. Monkey see, monkey do!

 Location #8: Kinetic Rain (Terminal 1, Public Area)

 

WHAT: Be mesmerised by the Kinetic Rain Sculpture, one of Changi Airport’s favourite art installations. With almost 5,000 mentions of #kineticrain on Instagram, you can see why it’s so captivating

  • WHERE: Level 2, Terminal 1
  • TIP: Try taking a video through Boomerang to capture the installation in action

Location #9: Heritage Zone (Terminal 4, Transit)

  • WHAT: Add a splash of colour to your Instagram feed when visiting the Heritage Zone in Terminal 4. Inspired by traditional Peranakan shophouses nestled around Singapore, you’ll also find homegrown and traditional brands here
  • WHERE: Level 2, Terminal 4
  • TIP: The further away the better! Stand back for a long shot in order to capture the splendor of the beautiful colours

 Location #10: Cactus Garden (Terminal 1, Transit)

  • WHAT: Enjoy an amazing skyline view and a variety of desert flora at the Cactus Garden, located on the rooftop of Terminal 1 transit area
  • WHERE: Level 3, Terminal 1
  • TIP: Keep your images sharp by capturing the flora when the sun is shining at its brightest from 11am to 2pm

 There are 8 direct airlines flying between Australia and Singapore including QANTAS, Emirates, Scoot, Singapore Airlines, SilkAir, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia and British Airways. In 2018, 5.97 million passenger movements were recorded on flights between Singapore and Australia, a 5% growth Y-o-Y. Of these, 1.11 million Australian travellers entered Singapore, the majority of which enjoyed a layover, using Singapore as the gateway to other Asian destinations and further afield to Europe.
