Find hidden goodies at a local supermarket in Asahikawa, Hokkaido

In 2018, Hoshino Resorts launched its fourth hotel brand “OMO” to provide guests with unique experiences revolving around urban tourism and local city life.

Hotels in Japanese cities have traditionally focused on business and luxury tourism whereas OMO’s aim is to act as a home base for travellers to uncover local delights in the surrounding neighbourhood through specialised activities and tours.

One such example is Hoshino Resorts OMO7 Asahikawa in Hokkaido recently launching the “Local Supermarket Tour with OMO Rangers”. Operated by an OMO ranger with extensive knowledge of the area, the tour takes hotel guests to the local supermarket “Daiichi” where they can buy local products and rare items that can’t be found at airports and other destinations.
