The Kiama Bodyboard King Pro pres. by Stojo can look forward to another year of festival fun and activities when the event lands in Kiama from the August 30 – September 8 at Kiama Surf Beach.

The opening weekend of competition will see oceanic events, coaching clinics, music and a farmers market all take place at Surf Beach and Coronation Park.

Association of Professional Bodyboarding (APB) CEO, Alex Leon expressed his excitement at seeing so many activities take place in and around the Kiama Bodyboard King Pro.

“The weekend of festivities will feature the AirAsia Air Show jetski assisted air show along with the Mike Stewart coaching clinic accompanied by food stalls, music and a vintage bodyboarding arena where the history of the sport will be showcased through former world champions, bodyboards from the ’70s and ’80s and some heritage heats with renowned Hawaiian bodyboarders Pat Caldwell, Mike Stewart, and Jeff Hubbard.”

Kiama Municipal Council Mayor Mark Honey echoed the same sentiments.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have the world’s best bodyboarders back at Surf Beach, a great beach for bodyboarders, and for fans to watch the action at close range,” said Honey. “A lot of work has once more been done organising events on and off the water, and it’s going to be another great tournament for the athletes, fans and our community.”

Other stops on the APB tour include Hawaii, Brazil, Chile and Portugal.

The Kiama Bodyboard King Pro is the only Association of Professional Bodyboarding (APB) World Tour event in Australia.
