There’s no doubt that Australians love to shop in modern ways. In fact, the country is ranked 6th in the world when it comes to the amount spent online per capita![1]
Ecommerce in Australia will certainly continue to grow over the coming years. The market size will be about A$35.2 billion (US$ 25.2 billion) by 2021[2] – but the one thing some people do miss when it comes to non-traditional shopping methods is the face-to-face interaction.
So now, answering this, Australia’s original and most-loved home shopping channel, TVSN, has kicked off an immersive ‘Coast to Coast’ tour – and $1,000 is up for grabs!
The tour started on Thursday, August 1, and will see TVSN’s much-loved presenter Peter Mason present live broadcasts from 8 cities in 8 days, visiting the country’s most iconic landmarks along the way including Melbourne’s Chinatown, Darwin’s Parliament House and the Brisbane City Botanical Gardens, providing a way for fans to get up close and personal with the legendary shopping brand like never before.
Plus, in true TVSN style, the channel is offering the ultimate experience for fans. To go into the draw to win the major prize, all people have to do is take a photo of the TVSN promo vehicle in the city that the tour is visiting that day, and upload it to Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #TVSNCoastToCoast and tag @tvsn.
TVSN presenter Peter Mason says, “I can’t wait to hit the road to connect with our amazing super fans. We are always overwhelmed by how passionate and engaged our audience is, so now it’s our turn to get out there up close and personal and return the favour. We will be hosting a range of events over the course of the week, including intimate breakfasts and morning teas, so we can get the opportunity to meet as many people as possible.”
Peter continues, “It was so tough to decide which cities to stop at, because there were so many deserving places with many great reasons to visit. For example, did you know that in the last year alone, almost 25,000 pairs of shoes were purchased from our NSW customers, or that over 2,000 of our Melbourne customers have been shopping with us for over 20 years?!
“This time we could only visit eight cities, but who knows where we will land during our next tour?!”
To celebrate the launch of this momentous event, the channel will only showcase Australian Brands in the live hours on Thursday August 1, highlighting the amazing realm of local offerings.
Judy Deuchar, TVSN General Manager, says, “There has been a lot of talk recently about the tough retail environment in Australia – however it isn’t all doom and gloom. TVSN has been a market leader for decades by connecting with their audience and creating a sense of community, and this unique tour is a way for us to bring this to life even more.
“We genuinely love our customers, and we’re excited to meet as many of them as possible from all across the country, to connect with them face-to-face, and celebrate all our amazing and loyal Australian customers.”
