When it comes to putting plans into motion however, the booking experience can be anything but relaxing with over half (56%) the nation finding the process stressful.
New research from Luxury Escapes reveals before jet setting away and escaping the daily grind, 1 in 10 Australians admit to feeling annoyed and inconvenienced during the holiday planning process.
From the sights you see to the experiences you gain, travelling can be an endless number of adventures. However, to bring the dream holiday to life, there’s always the one person responsible for making sure the trip is seamless.
The research revealed, 85% of Australians acknowledged themselves to being the person responsible for booking a holiday, with close to a quarter (17%) of Australians revealing they are left with this responsibility and are not the organiser by choice.
The task of organising the next idyllic getaway can quickly turn into a booking nightmare, with over a third (39%) of Australians admitting they would much rather someone else handle the pressure and coordination.
Between navigating multiple browsers and chasing the best deal, having the internet at our fingertips has seen online travel grow, with access to an ocean of flights, accommodation and experience options. When going through this holiday process, Australians look to the internet (75%), travel agents (16%), and a handful admitted to looking to “their wife” or “winging it” as their resource.
