AAT Kings Group is pleased to announce Kate Sorensen, as General Manager of Sales and Revenue. The newly created position will see Sorensen responsible for domestic and international sales, leading the group sales teams across AAT Kings’ Guided Holidays, Short Breaks and Day Tours as well as its Small Group collection, Inspiring Journeys, SEIT Outback Australia and Down Under Tours.

Matt Fuller, CEO of AAT Kings Group, welcomes Sorensen to the team, commenting: “Kate’s leadership experience, personality, existing relationships and profile within our industry will be a fantastic addition to the AAT Kings Group. As well as her local contacts, Kate is well known internationally by many of our key partners and stakeholders.”

With over 20 years in the tourism and hotel industry, Kate has a proven track record of revenue growth and maximising performance, moving across from SLC Representation as General Manager. Throughout her career she has been the Director for Global Sales and Commercial Projects at the InterContinental Group; has lead International Sales teams for the Mantra Group, and Hamilton Island; and was the founder of Three Degrees Tourism Marketing.

The newly established General Manager role will also act as a key conduit for trade and customer insight that will inform and guide future product development and innovation. Kate stated: “I’m thrilled to take on the role with AAT Kings Group, such a well-respected brand and company to be a part of. I look forward to working closely and collaboratively with our partners to aid the road to recovery, and to ensure that our extensive range of world class touring experiences in Australia and New Zealand are a ‘must do’ for any traveller.”

Fuller added, “We will be very focused on ensuring that the relationships we have forged, and the collaboration across the trade are stronger than ever. Kate is joining a team that is intent on demonstrating strong leadership to support Australia’s international tourism recovery, as well as ensuring we showcase our own backyard to Australian and New Zealand travellers prior to international borders reopening.”

With over 100 years’ experience, the AAT Kings Group offer a diverse array of award-winning experiences as the largest land-based touring operator in Australia and New Zealand. The brands are: AAT Kings, Inspiring Journeys, SEIT, and Down Under Tours; and includes the inbound ground handling services for sister companies Trafalgar and Insight Vacations, Costsaver and Luxury Gold in Australia and New Zealand.

Sorensen will commence the position on January 20.
