Expressions of Interest are now open for events to be part of the 2027 GourMay Mary Valley Food Festival, inviting local producers, hospitality businesses, community groups and creatives to help shape another month-long celebration of food, farming and community.

Held from 1–31 May 2027, GourMay brings together the people, produce and stories that make the Mary Valley one of Queensland’s distinctive food destinations.

Presented by the Mary Valley Chamber of Commerce, the festival celebrates the region’s agricultural heritage, local food production and growing reputation for authentic paddock-to-plate experiences.

From farm tours and long lunches to cooking demonstrations, workshops, community gatherings and creative experiences, GourMay offers opportunities for businesses and organisations of all sizes to participate.

The Chamber is encouraging both established event hosts and those with fresh ideas to submit an Expression of Interest by December 17, 2026.

“GourMay is about much more than great food. It’s about connecting visitors with the people behind the produce, sharing our stories and creating opportunities for local businesses and communities to benefit from tourism,” GourMay Festival Director Lesa Bell said.

“Some of our most memorable experiences come from local people opening their farms, kitchens and community spaces to visitors. We’re keen to see new collaborations and creative ideas that showcase what makes the Mary Valley so special.”

As GourMay continues to develop as a destination food festival, the focus remains firmly on supporting local producers, strengthening connections between businesses and encouraging visitors to explore the Valley’s villages, landscapes and hospitality.

Event organisers are encouraged to consider how they can feature locally grown and produced ingredients, tell authentic regional stories and create experiences that inspire visitors to stay longer and discover more.

Participation is open to farmers, food producers, chefs, cafes, restaurants, accommodation providers, tourism operators, artists, community organisations and anyone with an idea that celebrates the region’s food culture. Terms and condition apply.
