The Ascott Limited (Ascott), a Singapore-headquartered global hospitality company wholly owned by CapitaLand Investment (CLI), is marking International Coffee Day with the launch of its 2026 global Citadines For the Love of Coffee campaign. From 18 October to 29 November, the campaign brings Citadines’ passion for coffee to life through in-house programmes and partnerships with local communities.
This year’s global programme, themed “Your city, your cuppa”, invites guests to make the city their own, one cup at a time. In Singapore, coffee is woven into everyday life, with three in five adults drinking it daily. From traditional Nanyang kopi and South Indian filter coffee to modern specialty brews, Singapore’s coffee traditions reflect the diverse cultures and communities that have shaped the city. Building on this rich heritage, Citadines brings the global programme to Singapore through “A Cup of Coffee, A City of Stories”, inviting guests to discover Singapore through its coffee traditions, the stories behind each cup and the neighbourhoods where they continue to thrive. To bring the programme to life, Citadines has partnered exclusively with Monster Day Tours, an award-winning Singapore-based tour operator for immersive, locally led experiences. Drawing on its expertise, the curated walking tours will take guests beyond simply tasting coffee to understanding the traditions and people behind each cup, offering a deeper and more authentic way to experience the city beyond the usual tourist trail.
“Every city has its own coffee culture shaped by the people, traditions and neighbourhoods. For Citadines, this presents an opportunity to turn one of our brand passions into a more meaningful way for guests to discover their destination. This reflects our focus on guest service curation at Ascott, creating experiences that deepen guests’ connection with the destination and enable them to discover the city in ways that are meaningful and personal to them,” said Charmaine Wee, Deputy Area Manager, Citadines Rochor Singapore and Country Director, Guest Service Curation.
Three ways to explore Singapore through coffee
Across October and November 2026, Monster Day Tours will curate three coffee experiences exclusively for Citadines guests, offering access to specially designed tours in Singapore that are not available to the general public:
Sip, Stroll & Discover Chinatown, 18 October 2026: The series begins in Chinatown, pairing traditional Nanyang coffee culture with the neighbourhood’s Chinese heritage. Guests explore its streets and the Chinatown Heritage Centre to learn about Singapore’s early Chinese immigrants, then join a kopi appreciation workshop where they brew their own cup and taste local snacks.
Little India Coffee Trail, 15 November 2026: The second tour pairs traditional coffeeshop culture with Little India. Guests visit the Singapore Coffeeshop Heritage Gallery, join a Deepavali heritage walk exploring the Indian community’s contributions to Singapore’s multicultural identity, and end with a South Indian filter coffee appreciation experience and traditional Indian sweets and snacks.
Modern Coffee & Kent Ridge Heritage, 29 November 2026: The final tour pairs modern coffee with local history. Guests begin with a Kaffeign-led brewing workshop and tasting, then walk through Kent Ridge and Bukit Chandu to learn about Singapore’s Malay heritage and wartime history, including the Battle of Pasir Panjang.
