Copitas, the stylish destination bar on Level 21 of Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru is back in action. Soon after its reopening post the lockdown, the young team of talented mixologists will be celebrating Negroni Week from 17th to 20th September as a tribute one of the world’s greatest, most complex and sophisticated cocktails, the Negroni.

A special Menu for Negroni Week has been curated with cocktails such as the Classic Negroni, a perfectly blended archetypal cocktail, the Crazy Rich Negroni with its fragrant Asian undertones of coffee and pandan leaf as well as The Last Supper, a twist to Negroni, which is surprisingly fruity, with a mint and citrus overlay.

Invented in 1919 in Florence, there is a certain legacy and history attached to the cocktail Negroni, which was in itself, a serendipitous mistake.  Count Camillo Negroni asked his friend and bartender, Forsco Scarselli, to strengthen his favourite cocktail, the Americano – by replacing the soda water with gin. Thus was born one of the greatest cocktails, adored by millions, and a deft coming together of Gin, Campari and Vermouth.

Since 2013, Negroni Week has grown from about 120 participating venues to over 12,000 venues around the world. However, using the hashtag #negroniweek , this year the celebrations will be mostly digital. Presented by Imbibe Magazine and Campari, this will bring together scores of participating bars and bartenders.
