The Wilderness Collection is celebrating an exceptional run of international recognition, with Crater’s Edge in Ngorongoro and Warangi Ridge in the Serengeti National Park receiving an impressive six honours at the 2026 World Luxury Hotel Awards, including two prestigious Global Winner titles.
The awards recognise the properties’ commitment to delivering outstanding safari experiences, combining exceptional hospitality with immersive wilderness settings in two of Tanzania’s most remarkable landscapes.
Warangi Ridge, Serengeti, received three awards:
- Best Luxury Wilderness Lodge – Global Winner
- Best Luxury Safari Retreat – Africa
- Best Luxury Lodge – Africa
Crater’s Edge, Ngorongoro, also received three awards:
- Best Luxury Lodge – Global Winner
- Best Luxury Wilderness Lodge – Africa
- Best Luxury Bush Lodge – East Africa
Josephine Oosterhuis of The Wilderness Collection proudly accepted the awards at the 2026 World Luxury Hotel Awards ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand.
The accolades follow further significant recognition for both properties in the recent Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, in which Crater’s Edge and Warangi Ridge were voted among the “Top 20 Resorts in East Africa”. The reader-voted recognition reflects the continued appeal of the lodges among discerning travellers and adds to their growing international profile.
“We are delighted that both of our safari camps have been recognised by both Condé Nast Traveler and the World Luxury Hotel Awards. As a proudly Tanzanian owned, home-grown collection, this is a wonderful achievement, especially as Warangi Ridge has only just celebrated its first year of operation! Asante Sana to our whole team on the ground for which none of this would have been possible – and a sincere thank you to every guest and trade partner that supported us and voted! It is truly appreciated” — Jo Oosterhuis, The Wilderness Collection
Collectively these awards celebrate the dedication of the Wilderness Collection teams and their focus on creating memorable guest experiences in extraordinary natural surroundings.
The Wilderness Collection will be launching its third property, Lamai View in mid 2027 in the far northern region of the Serengeti National Park.
