Recognizing Japan as one of its key strategic international markets with strong growth potential and continued travel demand among Thai passengers, Vietjet Thailand is expanding its flight capacity and services to Japan under its Winter 2026 flight schedule. The airline increases flight frequencies and provides more travel options across five popular destinations, including Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Okinawa and Sapporo, to accommodate demand during the peak winter travel season.

With these adjustments, Vietjet Thailand’s seat capacity on Japan services is expected to increase by 50% compared with Summer 2026, backed by strong demand and customer base across its Japan network, which recorded an average load factor of 90% in 2026. The performance highlights Japan’s strategic importance and reinforces the carrier’s development strategy to expand flight network and capacity to accommodate growing travel demand, particularly during the winter travel season.

Mr. Pinyot Pibulsonggram, Vice President Commercial & Customer Service at Vietjet Thailand, said, “Japan remains our most popular international market, with consistently strong travel demand from Thai passengers. The strong performance of our Japan routes reflects the market’s continued potential, and we are responding by increasing flight frequencies and expanding our services to both major cities and regional destinations. With up to 50 flights per week connecting Thailand and Japan, we aim to provide passengers with greater flexibility and more affordable travel options, while encouraging Thai travellers to explore different parts of Japan.”

Under its Winter 2026 flight schedule, Vietjet Thailand is increasing frequencies on popular routes between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Japan. Services to Tokyo (Narita) will increase from seven to eleven round-trip flights per week starting 6 November 2026, while flights to Osaka (Kansai) will increase from four to seven round-trip flights per week starting 13 November 2026. In addition, the airline has resumed its Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi)–Fukuoka service with four round-trip flights per week, while also offering four weekly round-trip flights between Chiang Mai and Osaka (Kansai). Passengers can also travel from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Osaka (Kansai) and Okinawa via Taipei, with daily services to both destinations, as well as to Sapporo via Taipei, with four flights per week. These services will provide passengers with greater scheduling flexibility and more convenient travel options, while expanding access to Japan’s major cities and regional destinations, allowing travellers to explore the country’s diverse attractions, local culture, cuisine and natural landscapes.

Mr. Hajime Nakasugi, Executive Director of the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), Bangkok Office, said, “Japan continues to be a popular destination among Thai travellers. Approximately 835,000 Thai visitors travelled to Japan between January and September 2026, representing a 2.4% increase compared with the same period last year. We welcome Vietjet Thailand’s expansion of its Japan flight network, which will provide greater convenience and more travel options for Thai travellers, encouraging more visitors to explore Japan. Improved air connectivity will play an important role in stimulating travel demand, supporting tourism growth and contributing to economic development, while further strengthening tourism ties between Thailand and Japan.”

Vietjet Thailand is also offering special promotional fares starting from THB 31 (base fare), excluding taxes, fees and ancillary services. The promotional fares are available exclusively through the airline’s official website at www.vietjetair.com and the Vietjet Thailand mobile application, for bookings made from 27 to 31 October 2026, with travel between 1 November 2026 and 30 June 2027.
