Plaud, the AI work companion trusted by more than 3 million professionals worldwide, today announced that its Hong Kong user base has grown nearly 19-fold since entering the market at the end of 2023, more than doubling in the past year alone. Growth was led by Hong Kong’s finance and education professionals, who make up a notably larger share of Plaud’s users here than in any other market the company serves, with strong adoption also among technology, healthcare, and consulting professionals. Alongside this milestone, Plaud also shared details of a major update to its Plaud Intelligence platform, powered by Plaud Agent.

In Hong Kong, one of the fastest-paced cities in the world, deals move fast across languages, time zones, and borders. Between mid-August and mid-September 2026, about two-thirds of Hong Kong Plaud transcripts were in Chinese and roughly a third in English, while the typical recording ran over 30 minutes, about 30% longer than in the US. With more business conversations happening face-to-face, decisions are made in the room long before anything is written down on a document, and crucial detail is lost once the meeting ends. Plaud captures those conversations as a structured, searchable record the moment they happen, so nothing has to be reconstructed from memory later.

“Hong Kong’s position as a global business and wealth hub depends on how well it connects capital, talent, and ideas across borders and languages, and that happens almost entirely through conversation,” said Megumi Yoshinaga, Head of APAC & MEA Marketing, Plaud. “As the city’s workforce returns to in-person work, we’re seeing firsthand how much value gets created and lost in the room. With the next generation of Plaud Intelligence, we’re not just capturing that value, we’re acting on it: drafting the follow-up, building the brief, structuring the deck, so Hong Kong’s professionals can focus on the work itself. With in-person relationships back in focus, we’re building toward a future where Asia-Pacific accounts for about 10 million of the 50 million professionals we aim to serve globally by 2030, and Hong Kong has a meaningful role to play in that regional growth.”

From conversations to finished work

As professionals look for AI that does more than take notes, Plaud’s major upgrade to Plaud Intelligence turns it into an agentic AI platform. At its core is Plaud Agent, an AI agent that understands the context and intent of a user’s request, then completes the work, from generating a PowerPoint deck or Word document to drafting a follow-up message in Slack. Because Plaud Agent draws directly on what was discussed, it begins every task with full context and becomes more effective the more it is used. The update will be available to all Plaud users, including in Hong Kong, through the latest version of the Plaud mobile app, web and desktop.

Plaud Agent can draft follow-up messages, meeting briefs, and finished documents based on what was actually said; generate ready-to-share Artifacts, including PDFs, PowerPoint decks, and Word documents; apply Skills, so a recurring task is done the same way every time; run Routines, so a task happens automatically on a schedule or trigger; and act through Connectors to tools teams already use, including Google Calendar, Slack, Notion, and Linear.

Through the Ask Plaud feature, users have two ways to work with Plaud Agent: Chat and Work. Chat mode answers quick questions in a conversational format, while Work mode completes tasks such as drafting a follow-up email, a client report or a presentation deck. Users review all outputs before anything is sent or posted.

Plaud Note Pro and Plaud NotePin S, both available in Hong Kong, are compatible with Plaud Intelligence. The credit card-sized Plaud Note Pro captures both phone calls and in-person conversations, letting users stay present in a conversation without needing to manually take notes. The wearable Plaud NotePin S, designed to be worn as a necklace, clip, wristband, or pin, is built for on-the-go work such as meetings, interviews, consultations, and fieldwork. Both devices offer direct transcription support in more than 112 languages, including Traditional Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English.

Alongside this update comes Plaud Credits, a new way to measure the effort of tasks Plaud Agent does in Work mode, such as generating Artifacts, running Skills and Routines, and acting through Connectors. Chat mode, recording, transcription in over 112 languages, and the default automatic summary do not consume Plaud Credits.

To help users explore Plaud Agent, every account will receive a one-time grant of Plaud Credits upon updating to the latest version of the Plaud mobile app: 600 for Starter, 2,400 for Pro, and 6,000 for Unlimited accounts. These Plaud Credits are valid for three months from the date of the update.

Additional Credits can be purchased by users as needed. Plaud users can easily check their Credit balance in the Plaud mobile app and top up in a few taps, with packs starting at HK$88 for 1,000 Credits.

Plaud’s devices are available at more than 75 physical retail locations across the city, through major electronics retailers including Fortress, Wilson, and Broadway, as well as online through retailers such as YOHO (友和) and HKTVmall, and via Plaud’s own Hong Kong site.
