The China International MICE Exchange (CIMX) announced that Tianjin will participate in CIMX 2026 as Official Destination Showcase Partner. Taking place from November 3–5, 2026, in Beijing, CIMX is a new-generation international trade show dedicated to the business events, meetings, and incentive travel industry, developed by Messe Berlin China. Through the partnership, Tianjin and CIMX will jointly explore new opportunities to connect the city with international meeting planners, corporate decision-makers and MICE professionals.
As an important gateway city in northern China and a key node in the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Tianjin combines strong transport connectivity, a mature industrial base, international business infrastructure and a distinctive urban environment. The city is continuing to develop an increasingly international and diverse business events ecosystem, with the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin) playing an important role in attracting major exhibitions and events. Tianjin also hosts established international and high-profile events, including The World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions (2026 Summer Davos Forum) and the World Intelligent Industry Expo, demonstrating its capacity to support large-scale business gatherings and high-level industry exchange.
Tianjin’s appeal extends beyond its event infrastructure. Its position within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region provides access to a broad economic and business ecosystem, while the city’s port, airport and intercity rail connections support efficient regional and international mobility. The city’s waterfront setting along the Haihe River, historic neighborhoods and distinctive cultural and culinary offerings further add depth to the delegate experience.
The partnership also reflects Tianjin’s broader commitment to high-level opening-up and modern service-sector development. Tianjin continues to advance its Pilot Free Trade Zone and service-sector opening-up initiatives, while strengthening its role in regional economic cooperation and international business exchange.
Leveraging the strategic alignment between both parties, CIMX will bring its international exhibition platform, global industry network and targeted hosted buyer program to support Tianjin’s engagement with high-quality MICE buyers, event organizers and corporate decision-makers. Through destination showcasing, business matchmaking and professional exchange, the partnership aims to increase Tianjin’s visibility among international MICE professionals and create new opportunities for international meetings, corporate events, incentive programs and industry gatherings in the city.
Ma Chaojun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Tianjin Tourism (Holding) Group Co., Ltd., said:
“Tianjin offers an increasingly compelling proposition for the international MICE market, combining strong event infrastructure and transport connectivity with a distinctive industrial, cultural and waterfront character. We look forward to leveraging CIMX as an international platform to introduce Tianjin to more meeting planners and corporate decision-makers worldwide, and to demonstrate how business events in Tianjin can connect professional exchange with industry engagement and authentic city experiences.”
As Official Destination Showcase Partner of CIMX 2026, Tianjin will participate in an integrated destination promotion program, including a dedicated exhibition presence, a familiarization trip, and targeted business matchmaking. These activities will provide international buyers and industry professionals with opportunities to explore Tianjin’s venue infrastructure and unique destination resources and discover tailored business events and incentive programs.
Nikolaos Swoch, Director of CIMX, said:
“Tianjin brings together several elements highly attractive to the international MICE market: strong MICE infrastructure and connectivity, proven event capacity, and a distinctive city identity. Its proximity to Beijing and its role within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region further strengthen its potential as a destination for international business events. We are delighted to welcome Tianjin as an Official Destination Showcase Partner of CIMX 2026 and look forward to connecting the city with qualified buyers and business event professionals from China and international markets.”
The partnership further strengthens CIMX’s growing destination network and its commitment to creating meaningful connections between destinations, suppliers and global MICE buyers.
