Stories That Stay With You: New tourism campaign invites visitors to slow down on the Capricorn Coast
There are places that move fast… and then there are places that move you.
Stories That Stay with You | Capricorn Coast Holidays
That’s the inspiration behind Capricorn Enterprise’s new destination marketing campaign, ‘Stories That Stay With You’, launching Thursday, 15 October, and inviting travellers to discover holidays that leave a lasting impression.
Moving away from the traditional fast-paced, bucket-list approach to travel, the cinematic campaign celebrates meaningful experiences and the unexpected moments that turn a holiday into a lasting memory.
From quiet mornings by the water and unhurried afternoons exploring natural wonders, to genuine connections with local people, the campaign captures the relaxed pace and authentic experiences that make the Capricorn Coast Region so special.
Capricorn Enterprise Tourism Marketing Manager, Krista Brown, said the campaign was designed to showcase not just what the destination looks like, but how it makes people feel.
“We wanted to go beyond beautiful scenery and incredible experiences to capture those little moments that become the biggest memories,” Krista said.
“The unexpected conversation, the afternoon that turns into an evening, or the place you stumble across and never want to leave. Those are the stories that stay with you.”
Spanning Yeppoon, Rockhampton, Great Keppel Island and surrounds, the campaign showcases the region’s diverse landscapes, from reef and rainforest to rivers and ranges, while celebrating the local operators, creatives and custodians who bring the destination to life.
“There’s something special about this part of Queensland. You don’t have to rush from one experience to the next to have an incredible holiday,” Krista said.
“We want visitors to stay a little longer, explore a little further and discover the people and places they might otherwise have missed.”
Brought to life by award-winning filmmaker Stuart McKay of Stix Pix Productions, the campaign features Australian influencers Karstan and Maxine, whose natural chemistry and relaxed approach to travel help tell the destination’s story.
Rolling out over eight weeks from mid-October, the campaign will feature an extensive suite of new content, including hero and long-form films, five precinct videos and nine operator and story-led features.
Paid advertising across Meta, YouTube and Google Display will extend the campaign’s reach, inspiring new audiences to discover the Capricorn Coast Region.
“Ultimately, we want people to see themselves here and imagine switching off, slowing down and discovering something special,” Krista said.
“Because the best holidays aren’t always about how much you do, but how much you take away from the experience.”
