For the third consecutive year, The Crocodile Hunter Lodge by Australia Zoo has been recognised among Oceania’s leading accommodation experiences, receiving four 2026 Haute Grandeur Global Excellence Awards.
The awards recognise The Crocodile Hunter Lodge’s continued commitment to creating heartfelt stays and connect guests with the Australian bush and the natural world. Following four Haute Grandeur wins in 2025, the Lodge continues to welcome families, couples and wildlife lovers from around the world.
The Crocodile Hunter Lodge received the following 2026 Haute Grandeur Global Excellence Awards:
- Best Boutique Lodge in Oceania
- Best Country Lodge in Oceania
- Best Destination Boutique Lodge in Oceania
- Best Family Villa in Oceania
Terri Irwin, Director of Australia Zoo, said the awards were a deeply meaningful recognition of the Lodge’s vision and the experience it strives to create for guests. “The Crocodile Hunter Lodge was created from a dream Steve and I shared, a place where families could stay close to wildlife, enjoy the peaceful beauty of the bush and make memories with the people they love most.”
“Steve always believed that when people could spend time in nature and truly experience wildlife, they would feel inspired to protect it. The Lodge was built with that feeling at its heart.
“Every family who visits becomes part of the Lodge’s story. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply taking time to reconnect, we hope guests leave with treasured memories and an even greater love for our beautiful wildlife.”
Since opening in 2022, The Crocodile Hunter Lodge has offered guests a unique way to experience Australia Zoo, blending immersive wildlife encounters with the comfort of a dedicated accommodation experience. From waking to the sounds of the Australian bush to admiring wildlife from their cabins, guests are immersed in an experience that brings families and loved ones closer to nature.
Nestled in bushland on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, the Lodge offers rustic-luxury cabins and spacious family accommodation surrounded by native wildlife and natural habitats.
Guests at the Lodge receive unlimited entry to Australia Zoo, breakfast and additional dining credit at Warrior Restaurant & Bar, a welcome gift pack, and exclusive access to the Billabong, a heated infinity pool overlooking the resident kangaroos, emus and koalas. The Crocodile cabins at the Lodge also overlook a natural billabong home to freshwater crocodiles and endangered Mary River turtles!
Terri Irwin said, “I’m incredibly proud of our team’s dedication at The Crocodile Hunter Lodge, where they welcome every guest and provide a truly unforgettable stay in their home away from home.”
