Just 45 minutes by ferry from Singapore, Batam gets its first integrated resort estate. Opus Bay opens in phases from December 2026, starting with its own ferry terminal, Marina Bay Ferry Cove, and Residence on Opus Bay, a new hospitality concept in two distinctive buildings: Balmoral Tower, Batam’s biggest hotel with 493 rooms, and Cluny Resorts, the island’s latest ultra-luxury villa retreat, opening in 2027. Designed as “A City within a City” for leisure and business travellers alike, phase one in 2027 also brings a waterfront retail promenade, and a sports park, so guests can enjoy the buzz of Batam by day and unwind in tranquillity, with unobstructed sea views, by night.

A unique travel experience in Batam, travellers can disembark at Opus Bay’s private terminal, Marina Bay Ferry Cove, which is a short three-minute walk from the hotel, and the adventure begins immediately without the need for land transfers.

For those who choose a slower pace of life, a leisurely stroll along the Bay Boulevard Marina Promenade, the waterfront retail and dining precinct, where close to 80 stores, including concept stores and alfresco dining, turns sunset into an evening plan. The retail promenade, spanning across 10,000sqm, will also feature a food hall serving local and seafood delights and a supermarket stocked with daily essentials, groceries and more.

Opus Bay will also see a new Sports Park that adds an active dimension to the integrated resort experience. With three padel courts and four pickleball courts, the sports park is designed for both casual play and competitive sessions with lounge and bench seats, as well as shower facilities and a food kiosk.

Within 10 minutes of the resort, guests can discover Saung Budaya Batam and Puncak Beliung or tee off at Batam Hills Golf Resort, while two more golf clubs and the iconic Barelang Bridge are 25 to 30 minutes away. Shoppers will find Batam’s best-known malls, including Grand Batam Mall, Batam City Square and K-Square, within 30 to 35 minutes, and Hang Nadim International Airport is 45 minutes away.

A new escape for discerning travellers

Residence on Opus Bay presents two different travel experiences: Balmoral Tower, the island’s biggest hotel and Cluny Resorts, the island’s latest all-villa hideaway, where most villas feature a private pool.

Making its debut in progressive stages, Opus Bay will open its private Marina Bay Ferry Cove and Balmoral Tower progressively from December 2026, followed by the luxurious Cluny Resorts and its retail promenade, including a food hall, supermarket and Sports Park by early 2027.

  • Balmoral Tower is Batam’s biggest hotel, rising 35 floors with 493 rooms in nine categories, from studios to two-bedroom suites. Expect private balconies with views, kitchenettes, washer-dryers and an AI-powered digital concierge to suit modern lifestyles.
  • Cluny Resorts will be Batam’s first luxurious all-villa retreat: 57 villas across seven categories, from 169 sqm one-bedrooms to a 548 sqm three-bedroom Grand Villa, with a private pool in most villas. A buggy service links guests to the promenade and ferry terminal.
