Comiskey Group secures approval for a landmark 25,000sqm Town Centre bringing five-star accommodation, destination dining, entertainment, wellness and premium retail to North Lakes
A landmark $180 million mixed-use lifestyle precinct in North Lakes has officially been approved, paving the way for a new destination unlike anything currently offered in the City of Moreton Bay.
Developed by Queensland-owned Comiskey Group, North Lakes Town Centre will transform a prominent 1.72-hectare site into an approximately 25,000sqm premium lifestyle destination, bringing together a 144-room five-star hotel, signature hospitality, premium and casual dining, retail, wellness, entertainment and expansive landscaped public spaces.
Designed as an integrated, experience-led precinct rather than a traditional shopping centre, North Lakes Town Centre will create a new day-to-night destination for locals, visitors and the growing Moreton Bay community.
At its centre will be a 144-room, nine-storey five-star hotel, conceived as an urban resort, alongside an approximately 2,000sqm signature Comiskey Group hospitality venue that will provide a major anchor for the precinct.
Surrounding these key destinations will be a curated mix of restaurants, lifestyle and retail operators, health and wellness businesses, family entertainment and commercial offerings.
Comiskey Group Director Rob Comiskey said the approval marked a major milestone for a project designed to change the way people experience North Lakes.
“We see this as something genuinely different for North Lakes and for Moreton Bay. There isn’t currently a destination of this scale or this calibre in the area bringing all of these experiences together. “
“We’ve deliberately moved away from the traditional shopping centre model. This is about creating somewhere people actually want to spend time, whether that’s staying in the hotel, going out for dinner, meeting friends, enjoying entertainment, exercising or simply spending time in the public spaces.”
“The approval means we can now move into the next exciting stage of bringing this vision to life.”
The North Lakes Town Centre is set to take the area to another level, introducing a high-end lifestyle, dining, retail and entertainment offering unlike anything currently available in the region.
The project will deliver an experience comparable to some of Brisbane’s most established lifestyle precincts, including James St in Fortitude Valley, Gasworks in Newstead and West Village in West End, bringing a sophisticated mix of quality operators and destination venues to North Lakes.
Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2027, with consultants engaged and detailed design work already well underway.
The project is progressing toward becoming a landmark destination for North Lakes and the broader City of Moreton Bay, creating an opportunity for a curated mix of leading national, local and independent operators to be part of the precinct from the outset.
DESIGNED FOR A NEW GENERATION OF NORTH LAKES
Designed by award-winning architects Bureau Proberts, the precinct will feature a contemporary architectural language, landscaped public spaces and a strong connection between indoor and outdoor environments.
A central landscaped public realm will provide a focal point for the development, creating spaces for gathering, connection and activation throughout the day and into the evening.
The project will introduce a new level of premium hospitality and accommodation to North Lakes, while creating a destination for dining, leisure, wellness, entertainment and lifestyle.
City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said City of Moreton Bay was quickly cementing its reputation as one of Australia’s leading hotel and tourism investment destinations.
“City of Moreton Bay is proving to be a genuine hotspot for hotel and hospitality investment, and this significant commitment by local Comiskey Group is another strong vote of confidence in our growing visitor economy and the enormous opportunities our City presents,” Mayor Flannery said.
“This approval marks an exciting milestone for North Lakes and for Moreton Bay, with a world-class dining, accommodation, entertainment and lifestyle precinct set to create a landmark destination for locals and visitors,” Mayor Flannery said.
“It’s fantastic to see Comiskey Group’s vision continue to take shape in the heart of North Lakes, delivering the kind of premium experience our community has been calling for while helping position Moreton Bay as a must-visit destination ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond.”
NOW SEEKING LANDMARK TENANTS
With approval secured, leasing opportunities are now open for a select range of retailers, restaurateurs, wellness operators, entertainment businesses and commercial tenants.
The Comiskey Group is seeking distinctive operators and concepts that will complement the precinct and contribute to a carefully curated tenant mix.
For prospective tenants, the development offers the opportunity to establish a presence alongside major customer-generating anchors including the five-star hotel and signature Comiskey Group hospitality venue, within a new destination designed to attract customers across the day and evening.
