THE ACCOR HEARTBREAK HILL MINI-MARATHON 2026 RAISED USD 42,000 TO SUPPORT EDUCATION FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN

Accor hotels and resorts in Southern Thailand hosted the 9th Accor Heartbreak Hill Mini-Marathon on 20 September at the Promthep Cape. The annual fundraising event, which saw more than 2,000 participants, raised more than USD 42,000 (THB 1.4 million) to support education and opportunities for underprivileged children across communities in the Andaman region.

The Accor Heartbreak Hill Mini-Marathon was a celebration of community spirit. Beyond the funds raised, the event united businesses, partners and local communities around a shared purpose: creating greater opportunities for the next generation and strengthening the communities around them. For participants, it was a chance to give back while enjoying a day of fitness and fun.

Ianic Menard, Vice President of Operations for Accor, said: “Hospitality is about people and caring for one another. This is deeply embedded in Accor’s values and extends beyond our hotels to the communities we are privileged to be part of. We have a responsibility to preserve and contribute to the places we operate in, and children are at the heart of every community’s future. When we empower children with access to education and the resources they need to thrive, we are also helping to build stronger, more resilient communities for generations to come. I am proud of our Southern Thailand hotel teams whose dedication and generosity again made this life changing initiative for our children a great success.”

The event was a collective effort by 28 Accor hotels across Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi, spanning the Group’s Sofitel, MGallery, Pullman, Mövenpick, Grand Mercure, Handwritten Collection, Novotel, TRIBE, Mercure, ibis and ibis Styles brands. More than 700 Heartists, as Accor employees are referred to, worked behind the scenes to bring the event to life.
