IHG Hotels & Resorts successfully hosted its fourth annual “IHG Run for Good” charity event, bringing together more than 3,000 participants, including IHG colleagues, guests, runners, business partners and members of local communities, under the theme “See Beyond: Every Step Builds Independence” to turn their shared passion for running into meaningful support for Thailand’s visually impaired community. The spirit of giving back extended beyond Bangkok, with sister runs in Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui bringing IHG colleagues, guests and local communities together around the same cause.

The event featured three race categories: the 2 KM Walk & Run, 4 KM Fun Run and 9 KM Run, welcoming participants of all ages and fitness levels. Through the collective support of participants across the destinations, this year’s IHG Run for Good raised a total of THB 1.4 million for the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of H.M. The Queen. The event was supported by Spirit Fitness, MarketBoomer and Segafredo, alongside many other sponsors who joined IHG in supporting this meaningful initiative.

This year’s funds will support the EyerisVision: EmpowerSight Project, which focuses on Thai-developed AI Smart Glasses designed to help people with visual impairments navigate everyday activities with greater independence and safety. Equipped with a camera, microphone and simple tactile controls, and paired with a Thai-language AI application, the technology is designed to help users read Thai text, understand their surroundings and move through daily life with confidence. In this way, the funds raised through every kilometre and every participant’s contribution will help connect technology with practical everyday needs.

Patrick Both, Director of Operations, Luxury & Lifestyle, Thailand, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “IHG Run for Good demonstrates the power of bringing our people and communities together to create meaningful impact. This year, we were proud to see colleagues, guests and runners across Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui and Krabi come together to support the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand and the EyerisVision: EmpowerSight Project. The funds raised are a direct result of this collective commitment, and we are grateful to everyone who took part and helped make every step count. As we continue our partnership with the Foundation, we hope this initiative will contribute to greater accessibility, independence and opportunities for Thailand’s visually impaired community.”

Here are some highlights from IHG Run for Good 2026:

The charity run forms part of IHG’s Giving for Good Month in September, an annual global initiative that encourages colleagues across IHG to support their communities through locally relevant activities. In Thailand, IHG Run for Good reflects this wider commitment by directing collective fundraising towards a practical solution identified through IHG’s longstanding partnership with the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand.

Through Journey to Tomorrow, IHG’s 10-year responsible business plan, IHG continues to focus on creating positive change for people, communities and the planet, with an ambition to improve the lives of 30 million people globally.
