Palladium Hotel Group, a Spanish hotel chain with over 50 years of experience with a portfolio of hotels and resorts across sought-after destinations, is celebrating the third anniversary of Palladium Cares, its global social responsibility initiative. Reflecting the company’s broader commitment to creating a positive and lasting impact in the destinations where it operates, Palladium Cares has evolved from a program centered on employee engagement into a broader model of regenerative tourism—one that brings together employees, guests, local communities and nonprofit organizations to help address social and environmental needs while creating meaningful value beyond the hotel.
Now organized around four pillars: Our Community, Our People, Our Planet and Our Company, Palladium Cares has expanded its reach across the Americas and Europe while strengthening programs focused on education, employment, community development, employee well-being and environmental conservation.
“We are so proud of the impact Palladium Cares has made across the communities where our hotels call home.” said Gloria Juste, Corporate Social Responsibility Sr. Director of Palladium Hotel Group. “The program is about creating a lasting and meaningful change where it matters most. By strengthening our local communities and serving our people, we’re building a more hopeful future, together.”
Our Community
Palladium Cares continues to expand opportunities for local communities through its Professional Training Centers, providing education, professional skills and practical training designed to help people enter the workforce and build sustainable livelihoods. Since its launch, the program has supported thousands of people across the communities where Palladium Hotel Group operates. In 2025 alone, approximately 700 young people received training through the program in Brazil, while in Mexico more than 3,000 people were reached during the center’s first year, including more than 500 people who received technical training and more than 600 who participated in humanistic education programs. In Jamaica, 92 students are currently enrolled across six training locations, with courses ranging from restaurant and bar service to housekeeping and practical training opportunities at Palladium hotels. The program has also expanded to Spain, where its first Ibiza edition, launched in partnership with Cáritas Ibiza in November 2025, has already welcomed 23 students across two editions. Most recently, in September 2026, Palladium Cares expanded to the Dominican Republic through a new Professional Training Center in Higüey, launched in partnership with World Vision Dominican Republic.
Palladium Cares’ community efforts also include 4 Causes 4 Quarters, a year-round program that mobilizes Palladium Hotel Group team members around four key social challenges: protecting the planet, supporting the well-being of senior citizens, supporting children and addressing inequality. Now implemented across all 40 of the group’s hotels and corporate offices, the initiative has engaged more than 700 volunteers, partnered with 53 nonprofit organizations and reached more than 1,800 beneficiaries. Each quarter, teams across the company focus collectively on one cause, working alongside local social organizations to organize awareness activities, volunteer initiatives and direct community support.
Over the past year, Palladium Hotel Group strengthened its approach to emergency response, providing support to employees and communities affected by natural disasters in Jamaica and Venezuela. Following Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica in October 2025, the Abel Matutes Foundation and Palladium Cares activated an emergency response that reached approximately 1,300 affected employees and local communities. Support included assistance with home reconstruction, contributions from more than 30 suppliers, and temporary accommodation at the resort for nearly 300 employees, while Palladium volunteers helped prepare and distribute essential supplies.
In Venezuela, following the earthquake in June 2026, the Abel Matutes Foundation provided resources to help address the basic needs of affected communities. Palladium Cares also launched an internal campaign across corporate offices and hotels, mobilizing employees to contribute to relief efforts through Fundación Chamos and other international aid organizations.
Our People
Through Our People, Palladium Cares focuses on creating opportunities and supporting Palladium Hotel Group employees and their families. The Abel Matutes Foundation Scholarship provides children of Palladium Hotel Group employees with 100% coverage of university tuition for the full duration of their degree, along with living expenses during the first three years of study. The Foundation currently supports 16 students across Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.
A new Mentor Plan launched during the 2025–2026 academic year, pairing each scholarship recipient with a Palladium Hotel Group executive who provides academic and professional guidance throughout their university journey.
This pillar also includes daycare partnerships in Mexico and Jamaica and the Solidarity Fund, which provides financial support to employees and their families facing particularly challenging circumstances. The fund is driven by a participatory approach, with employees identifying the most pressing needs among their colleagues and organizing initiatives to raise funds in response. The amount raised by employees is then matched by an equivalent contribution from the Abel Matutes Foundation, effectively doubling the impact of their support. Through the Solidarity Fund, Palladium Cares has helped employees and their families navigate situations including the loss of a home due to fire, expenses following the death of a family member, and medical needs ranging from treatments and procedures to surgeries.
Our Planet
Palladium Cares continues to advance environmental conservation across its destinations. In Ibiza, the program has partnered with Fundación Blue Life to support the conservation and restoration of Posidonia oceanica through the new Palladium Blue Life Hub at Grand Palladium Select Palace Ibiza. The hub provides guests and local communities with opportunities to learn about marine biodiversity and take part in conservation activities.
The group also continues to advance its sustainability efforts through sea turtle conservation programs in Mexico, Brazil and Jamaica; sustainable agriculture initiatives through its Agroparks in Brazil and the Dominican Republic; and food waste reduction and reuse programs across its hotels.
The Agroparks initiative promotes sustainable agriculture, environmental education and community development in its destinations. The program includes an established Agricultural Training and Production Center in Imbassaí, Brazil, and a new Palladium Cares Park under development in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, focused on producing herbs, fruits and vegetables sustainably while offering educational activities for local communities, employees and guests.
Palladium Cares also advances circular economy practices across its operations, finding new uses for materials that would otherwise become waste while creating additional social value for local communities. Through initiatives such as Soap for Hope and Linens for Life, the company works with nonprofit organizations to repurpose hotel materials and transform them into useful products. In Mexico and the Dominican Republic, Soap for Hope recovers used guest soap, which is reprocessed into new bars for distribution or sale by communities in need. In 2025, the initiative recycled 507 kilograms of soap, resulting in more than 4,500 new bars. Similarly, through Linens for Life, used linens—including sheets, towels and other textiles—are donated to partner NGOs in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, where they are transformed into emergency kits, bags and other useful products.
The initiative is also expanding to Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa with a new ecological garden designed to engage families and children in hands-on activities. A key evolution of the program is the increased involvement of guests, expanding Agroparks from an employee- and community-focused initiative into an experiential sustainability program that guests can actively participate in during their stay. In 2025, 856 kilograms of food were donated to social dining programs, further demonstrating how Palladium Cares is connecting environmental action with tangible community benefit.
Our Company
Our Company serves as the foundation for Palladium Hotel Group’s approach to responsible governance, business ethics and transparency, embedding social and environmental responsibility into the company’s broader business strategy. In its third year, this pillar has continued to strengthen its role in guiding a strategy that extends beyond traditional hotel operations, with the goal of creating sustainable value for employees, guests and the local communities that surround its properties.
Palladium Cares also continues to build partnerships with NGOs, suppliers and local organizations to create long-term impact and strengthen the communities surrounding its hotels. Most notably, the company is extending this commitment directly to guests, offering opportunities to donate to partner organizations, visit community projects and participate in purpose-driven experiences focused on sustainable agriculture, environmental education and conservation.
As Palladium Cares enters its fourth year, Palladium Hotel Group will continue to strengthen these partnerships and create new opportunities for employees, guests and local communities to participate in initiatives that contribute to the long-term well-being and sustainable development of the destinations where the group operates.
