Avani Cypress Lakes Resort, owned by Minor Hotels, has launched its meetings and events offering alongside the resort opening.
Set on 340 acres in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, the property is Australia’s largest integrated wellness resort precinct.
The resorts phased transformation will introduce three pickleball courts, an outdoor cinema, a pool bar with a DJ booth, Pilates reformers and outdoor cold-plunge pools. Additionally, there will be new dining concepts which will include Chakraya, a restaurant inspired by the vibrant flavours and culinary traditions of Sri Lanka.
The redevelopment has marked a shift in how the resort approaches corporate meetings and events. Rather than relying on traditional conference packages, the offering has been designed around flexibility and experiential outcomes, with 24 conference and event spaces spanning indoor and outdoor settings that can be tailored to suit a wide range of group sizes and event formats.
From focused meetings to large scale events, the resort gives event planners the freedom to create spaces that encourage collaboration, fresh thinking and genuine connection. With over 300 acres of space, this immersive eco setting is a significant advantage, providing an environment where guests can slow down focus and engage meaningfully with one another.
Fraser Ross, General Manager of Avani Cypress Lakes Resort said the evolution of the resort’s meetings and events offering reflects the changing trends and priorities of today’s corporate functions.
“Corporate clients are increasingly seeking flexible, experience-led options that in turn, create memorable shared experiences with those in attendance.”
The experiential focus extends to ‘Buzz & Breathe’; Avani’s new signature experience concept being rolled out across eligible properties in the region. Built around the idea that memorable events need both energy and ease, the concept helps organisers create more engaging, balanced and flexible itineraries by weaving customisable experiences throughout the day.
‘Buzz’ moments are designed to spark engagement, collaboration and connection through energising team activities and vibrant social experiences, while ‘Breathe’ moments create space for delegates to pause, reflect, recharge and reset through wellness-led breaks, time in nature or moments away from the agenda. Tailored to each group’s needs and objectives, the two elements create a natural rhythm that helps attendees stay focused, refreshed and ready for what comes next.
“Avani Cypress Lakes Resort was built to change the way people experience the Hunter Valley, and that extends to how they meet. Whether it’s a team paint-and-sip experience, a private sunrise Pilates session or a hands-on Sri Lankan cooking class, the different concepts allow groups to create memorable touchpoints throughout their event,”
“Today’s event planners are looking for more than a venue. They are looking for a source for inspiration and a place to connect. With Avani’s flexible approach and the introduction of Buzz & Breathe, we’re giving organisers the tools to create events that feel purposeful, engaging and tailored to their group,” said Ross.
Meetings and events experiences are now available for booking. Event planners who book before 31 December 2026, for events held by 30 June 2027, can save 10% on their event booking value. *
