Opened in June 2025, the property combines Milanese architectural heritage with highly individual contemporary interiors by designer Alex Meitlis. Rather than following a conventional luxury hotel formula, Hotel Milu Milano places the emphasis on considered design, atmosphere and a more personal guest experience.
The interiors retain elements of the building’s historic character while introducing a bold, contemporary identity, with terrazzo floors, wooden shutters, statement rugs and striking bathrooms featuring coloured glass and painted ceilings. The result is a hotel that feels distinctly Milanese, but with a more relaxed and independent sensibility than the city’s traditional five-star addresses.
The story could therefore serve as a case study within a wider look at Milan’s evolving hotel scene – and the growing appeal of design-led stays that offer personality and service at a more accessible price point.
