Shangri-La Group (“the Group”) is pleased to announce the signing of a landmark resort with SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC). Shangri-La Santelmo Cove, a secluded coastal sanctuary located within Hamilo Coast, south of Metro Manila, is set to open in 2031. The resort will offer discerning travellers a harmonious blend of timeless elegance, exceptional service, and deep respect for nature in one of the Philippines’ most ecologically rich marine environments.

Nestled within a protected cove known for its vibrant coral reefs, sea turtles, and thriving marine biodiversity, Shangri-La Santelmo Cove will offer an immersive coastal experience that celebrates both the beauty and fragility of its surroundings. The resort will feature approximately 40 villas and 50 rooms and suites, which will be thoughtfully designed to co-exist harmoniously with the natural terrain and ocean views.

Said Mr. Sunny Paw, Group Chief Operating Officer of Shangri-La Group: “Shangri-La Santelmo Cove presents a unique opportunity to celebrate the Philippines’ natural and cultural treasures. For more than two decades, Shangri-La has built a strong legacy in the country through our hotels and resorts in Manila, Boracay and Cebu, where our teams have created meaningful connections with guests, colleagues, and local communities. The Santelmo Cove project is a natural and exciting extension of this journey across the archipelago. It allows us to deepen our presence in the Philippines while introducing a new chapter of sustainable, nature-led luxury that reflects both the spirit of the destination and the values of our brand.”
