Singapore Airlines has added a little festive sparkle to the Sydney-Singapore market, launching a limited-time Economy sale that brings selected return fares below AUD $800.
The offer gives Sydney travellers a rather unusual two-airport itinerary: depart from Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD), fly to Singapore, then return to Australia through the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI).
For bookings made from 29 September to 5 October 2026, Singapore Airlines is offering 25 per cent off selected Economy fares. The promotional return fare is advertised at under $800, including taxes, with pricing stated as correct on 29 September 2026.
Outbound travel is available from 1 to 23 November 2026 on Sydney-Singapore services SQ222 or SQ242. The return window runs from 23 November to 31 December 2026, making the deal particularly relevant to travellers planning a pre-Christmas escape, family visit or end-of-year Singapore break.
The timing adds extra aviation theatre. Singapore Airlines will begin daily non-stop services between Singapore and Western Sydney International on 23 November 2026, adding a fifth daily Singapore Airlines flight serving the broader Sydney market. The new route will use an Airbus A350-900 medium-haul aircraft, configured with 303 seats: 40 in Business Class and 263 in Economy.
For Western Sydney residents, the new airport could also make the homeward leg considerably more convenient. WSI is designed for 24-hour, curfew-free operations, giving airlines much more flexibility for late-night and early-morning flights. Singapore, meanwhile, remains a formidable gateway for connections throughout Asia and beyond.
However, travel advisors should double-check one detail before issuing tickets.
Promotional information published on 29 September lists the inbound Singapore-WSI flight as SQ261. Singapore Airlines’ current official Western Sydney timetable identifies its daily Singapore-to-WSI service as SQ201, with SQ202 operating the reverse WSI-Singapore sector. Flight numbers and schedules can change, so treat the passenger’s booking confirmation as the final authority.
For travellers who can make the dates work, though, a sub-$800 Singapore Airlines return fare is the sort of number that tends to make passports stir expectantly in drawers.
And with the journey home touching down at Sydney’s newest international gateway, the airfare even includes a small helping of aviation history.
