Lanson Place Parliament Gardens has been awarded One MICHELIN Key, marking a milestone as the Melbourne hotel celebrates its second anniversary. The property opened on 20 September 2024, Lanson Place’s first hotel in Australia.
MICHELIN defines One Key as “a very special stay”, recognising hotels for the overall experience they deliver. Its selection considers design and architecture, service, character, value and contribution to the surrounding destination.
For Lanson Place Parliament Gardens, the recognition adds a new chapter to a building already woven into Melbourne’s history. Set within the former 1901 Salvation Army Printing Works, the building has undergone an $80 million redevelopment, breathing new life into a historic site after years of deterioration.

Overlooking Parliament Gardens, the property combines its original brick façade and arched windows with contemporary rooms and apartments. More than 450 works by Australian artists feature throughout the hotel, while Chronicle 502 Bar & Dining references the building’s printing heritage.
Its 137 accommodation options span hotel rooms, studios, apartments and penthouses, complemented by a 20-metre indoor heated swimming pool & spa and fitness centre. The apartment-style accommodation sets the property apart from other five-star hotels, pairing fully equipped kitchens and in-room washer/dryers with the service and amenities of a five-star hotel. This combination offers the convenience and comfort of a home away from home for both short city visits and longer stays.
