Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi will return to the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk from 16 October 2026, celebrating 30 years since its first Bondi exhibition in 1997. Widely regarded as the world’s largest free to the public outdoor sculpture exhibition, the 2km coastal walk will be transformed into a giant sculpture park for all to enjoy.
100 artworks will be exhibited by artists from across Australia and around the world from Japan to India, China to New Zealand and Slovakia to South Africa. Esteemed Japanese artist Keizo Ushio will celebrate his 50th Sculpture by the Sea exhibition at Bondi, Cottesloe Beach in Perth and the former Denmark exhibitions. Joining Keizo is Chen Wenling, one of China’s most internationally recognised sculptors.
There will be over 30 first-time exhibitors at Bondi this year including First Nations artist David Doyle and Melbourne-based contemporary land artist James Tapscott. Lithgow-based Koichi Ishino joins the double decade club, celebrating his 20 Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi exhibitions, which inspired Koichi to migrate to Australia from Japan over 15 years ago. Archibald Prize Winner and last years’ Bondi exhibition iShares Peoples’ Choice Award recipient Tim Storrier AM returns for the second year in a row.
The Bondi coastal walk has recently re-opened, making this the first exhibition since 2023 where parts of the walk have not been closed due to rock falls.
