ETA Group has turned the success of Flight Centre’s mammoth Bangkok gathering into a springboard for Bwnd Events, a specialist creative events and incentive agency with Australia and Singapore firmly in its sights.

ETA Group says it has officially unveiled Bwnd Events, a new specialist creative events and incentive agency aimed at the fast-moving Asian business events market.

The launch follows the group’s work on Flight Centre Travel Group’s Global Gathering in Bangkok in July. The event brought more than 2,000 Flight Centre employees and trade partners to the Thai capital from 10 to 12 July 2026. Tourism Authority of Thailand also confirmed the gathering attracted more than 2,000 high-performing travel professionals.

For ETA Group, the gathering became a large-scale proving ground. The company says its team delivered 32 events and activations across the senior leaders and sponsors program. The wider week-long program involved about 2,100 guests from around the world.

In event-speak, that is not exactly a soft opening. It is closer to testing the kitchen on a full Saturday night before hanging the new sign above the door.

Bwnd targets the high-touch events market

El Kwang leads Bwnd as Chief Executive. The agency will work with clients from concept development through to on-site delivery, focusing on experiences designed to engage people, strengthen relationships and produce measurable business results.

Kwang said the idea came from listening closely to clients and industry partners.

“Bwnd started by firstly listening. Max, Pete [Make-Arun] and I listened to our clients and supporters, and we saw an opportunity to create something that helps future-proof our profession,” he said.

“The successful delivery of 32 events and activations for the Flight Centre Global Gathering gave us the confidence that there is a clear need for a high-touch agency like Bwnd, particularly across our immediate key markets of Australia and Singapore.

“Bwnd is about what we can achieve when creativity, purpose and exceptional delivery come together.”

Those two markets are central to the agency’s early ambitions. Australia and Singapore both generate important corporate, incentive and association business into Asia.

Thailand, meanwhile, continues to promote higher-value tourism and international business events as part of its broader visitor-economy strategy. The Tourism Authority of Thailand said the Flight Centre gathering reinforced the country’s position as a destination for global travel distribution and international business events.

Flight Centre’s Bangkok gathering also gave Thailand valuable exposure to thousands of travel sellers, senior leaders and industry partners.

Flight Centre Travel Group confirmed that more than 2,000 “Flighties” and trade partners attended its 2026 Global Gathering, themed Rise, with FCM Meetings & Events organising the event.

Flight Centre praise adds weight

Dee Kelly, Senior Project Director at FCM Meetings & Events, said ETA Group’s work demonstrated its ability to manage complex international events at scale.

“We have worked with many DMCs over the decades of this event, and our team felt that ETA Group was absolutely one of the best,” she said.

“We felt that we had a true partnership. The team was well structured, and they are specialists in their areas of focus.

“The event was a huge success, and we are very aware that this was highly due to the exceptional service received from the team.”

It is useful praise in an industry where glossy presentations are plentiful but the real examination begins when thousands of delegates, dozens of venues, transport movements and last-minute changes all decide to arrive at once.

ETA Group founder Max Boontawee Jantasuwan has spent more than 15 years in Thailand’s meetings and incentive sector. Industry profiles identify him as the founder of Events Travel Asia Group and a long-time participant in Thailand’s business events industry.

ETA Group says experienced business events professional Pete Make-Arun has also been appointed Chief Operating Officer as the group expands its specialist operations.

Bwnd joins Events Travel Asia, E-Transportation and E-Distribution in the group’s specialist portfolio.

Bwnd’s official website says the business is a trading name of Journey to Asia Co., Ltd, part of ETA Group. It describes the agency as combining destination-management expertise with program and content design for incentive travel and events in Thailand.

That is a crowded field, of course. Asia is hardly short of DMCs, incentive houses or event agencies promising creativity, seamless delivery and service with a smile.

Bwnd’s task is to turn “high-touch” from a useful marketing phrase into something clients can see, measure, and remember.

After Bangkok, however, it arrives with a sizeable case study already on the table. In the events business, the glossy pitch may win attention, but delivery still wins the encore.
