The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) is pleased to announce the launch of its new online grants-in-aid application portal for the Tourism Works Micro-Grant. A secure, web-based platform designed to simplify the application process for Guam’s tourism industry partners while enhancing transparency, accessibility, and efficiency.
Organizations applying for the GVB Tourism Works Micro-Grant funding can submit applications electronically through the new grants portal,
“GVB is dedicated to empowering our industry and community partners by providing easier access to resources that support initiatives to enrich the visitor experience, strengthen our tourism industry, and provide a tangible return on investment for Guam,” said GVB President & CEO Régine Biscoe Lee. “Our new grants portal streamlines the application process, allowing organizations to spend less time on paperwork and more time delivering meaningful projects that showcase the Håfa Adai spirit.”
The new grants portal allows applicants to apply online, securely upload supporting documents, save applications in progress, and access submissions anytime from any internet-connected device. Built-in validation and automated workflow help improve application completeness, efficiency, transparency, and accountability throughout the review process.
Administered through GVB’s Destination Development Program, the Tourism Works Micro-Grant supports initiatives that enrich the visitor experience, supports our tourism industry, and provides a tangible return on investment for Guam.
Grant Application Cycles and Seasonal Window
The Tourism Works Micro-Grant will have two application cycles each year:
- First application cycle: September 1 – October 30, 2026 (close of submissions)
- Event months: November 2026 – February 2027 (period when GVB-sponsored events and approved grant-supported activities will take place)
Second application cycle: March 1 – April 30, 2027 (close of submissions)
- Event months: May – July 2027 (period when GVB-sponsored events and approved grant-supported activities will take place)
Applicants are encouraged to plan ahead and apply during the appropriate seasonal application window. A 90-day advance application period is required for proposed events and activities, allowing sufficient time for application review, approval, planning, and coordination.
Application Eligibility
The Tourism Works Micro-Grant is available to licensed businesses, bona fide non-profit organizations, and other eligible applicants identified under GVB’s established grant requirements. Eligible applicants may include individuals, Government of Guam agencies, or bona fide non-profit organizations. For-profit organizations are eligible for funding when their proposed project supports an eligible Target Market Area.
Eligible projects must support at least one of the following Target Market Areas:
- Cultural Tourism: Tourism and events related to Guam’s host and multi-ethnic cultures that provide residents and visitors with enriching experiences and insights into the history, customs, art, and traditions of our island.
- Regenerative/Eco-Tourism: Tourism related to experiencing Guam’s natural attractions, unique flora, fauna, and culture in a manner that is ecologically responsible, economically sustainable, encourages the well-being of the local community, and is infused with the Håfa Adai Spirit.
- Edu-Tourism: Tourism related to formal and informal education and training in lifelong learning experiences in Guam’s unique natural and multicultural environment.
- Health and Wellness Tourism: Tourism related to the health and wellness industry, focusing on travel for the purpose of enhancing the wellness of the mind, body, and spirit of individuals, families, and groups.
- Sports Tourism: Tourism related to participating in and experiencing international sporting events and the development of sports tourism in Guam.
- Local Events: Events related to the development, implementation, and promotion of programs that further education, training, employment assistance, entrepreneurial development, community development, and the promotion of tourism in Guam.
- Applicants should also be prepared to meet GVB’s community volunteer requirement as part of the grant program’s established eligibility and participation guidelines.
