LAPITA, the Japan-based artist booking and management agency, announces the LAPITA Festival 2027 Thailand Pre-Party at DUAL, Bangkok on Friday, 28 August 2026. Presented by PARAMOUNT OPEN AIR PARTY, the night brings eight acts from Thailand, Japan, India and Korea together across two rooms. It is the first step toward LAPITA Festival 2027 Thailand, and the latest chapter in the agency’s ongoing work connecting artists and scenes across Asia.

The main room features Bangkok’s own Sunju Hargun, a long-standing figure in Thailand’s electronic music landscape whose activities in Japan are supported by LAPITA. He is joined by a live set from New Delhi’s Monophonik, whose modular-synth performances move through breaks, acid, techno and trance with an improviser’s instinct for the unpredictable. From Japan, PARAMOUNT residents Mimu and NOCO join forces for a B2B set, with Hidai completing the room. In the creature room, Thailand’s Elaheh and bunnyman.dogs meet YELLOWUHURU, the Tokyo-based LAPITA artist fresh from Panorama Bar, Ormside Projects and the Open Air Stage at rural 2026, and Seoul’s Kugel, whose cosmic, psychedelic sound has already carried her from a residency at Tunnel to Future Terror in New York. Across two rooms, eight acts from different cities and scenes shape the course of the night.

“Some of these connections go back years, others are just beginning — and to see them all in one room in Bangkok means a lot to us,” says Mimu, founder of PARAMOUNT. “Across Asia, the scene is getting stronger; artists, crews and dancers are more connected than ever, and nights like this are where that becomes something real. This is the first step toward the festival next year, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s coming.”

The lineup is built outward from Thailand’s local scene, with respect for the music cultures and communities that exist within each city, and opens toward Japan, India and Korea. Not a one-way exchange bringing something from Japan into Thailand, but a meeting point: a space where sounds and communities rooted in different places can meet, and new relationships can emerge.

That approach has run through LAPITA’s work since its early years. LAPITA Festival’s first edition in Japan, in November 2022, brought together artists from across the region, including Jing Lekker (Taipei), Midnight Traffic (Hyderabad), Mr. Ho (Hong Kong), SUNA (Seoul), Sunju Hargun (Bangkok) and Yoshi Nori (Taipei). The LAPITA Tour reached Thailand in 2023. LAPITA artists appeared on the 428 stage at Wonderfruit in 2023 and 2024, followed by a LAPITA Takeover at Moonlight Lounge in 2025. Along the way, LAPITA has produced and coordinated showcases across Asia for Japanese festivals and platforms including PARAMOUNT, rural and 428.

Sound for the night is handled by Hidai and TAAAHHH of OtOdashi SOUND SYSTEM, the team behind PARAMOUNT’s sound system operation, travelling from Japan to Bangkok to work directly with DUAL’s system. Their approach carries the sonic principles developed through PARAMOUNT into the club environment.

The Pre-Party is more than a one-off event. It is a marker on the road to LAPITA Festival 2027 Thailand, and a continuation of exchanges that have been building between these scenes for years.
