Australian travellers with Asia on their wish list may want to mark their calendars. Philippine Airlines is bringing back its Ultimate Seat Sale from 24 to 30 August 2026.

Media material supplied to Global Travel Media says the week-long sale will cut fares to the Philippines by up to 40 per cent. Selected flights beyond the Philippines will be reduced by up to 35 per cent. Travel starts from 16 September 2026.

For Australians, the appeal is simple. Manila does not have to be the final stop.

Philippine Airlines serves Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. From Manila, travellers can connect to more points in the Philippines and across Asia.

That puts beaches, islands, family visits and city breaks within easy reach. It also makes a two-stop or multi-city holiday worth a look. Even the family holiday spreadsheet may finally earn its keep.

“For travellers who know how to stretch both their time and their budgets, the sale presents an opportunity to think beyond a single destination,” said Krystle Ramirez, country manager for Australia.

“A trip through Manila can open onto world-class beaches and islands, while Philippine Airlines’ wider network provides connections to cities across Southeast Asia and beyond.”

The sale is due to open on Monday, 24 August. That gives travellers time to compare dates and check passports. It also gives them time to work out which trip has been sitting on the wish list for too long.

The travel window could suit spring breaks and family visits. It may also work for end-of-year holidays. Manila can be used as the hub for a wider Asian trip.

As always, the fine print matters. Sale seats may be limited. Fare rules, blackout dates, taxes and other charges can change the final price. Travellers should check the full terms before booking.

The sale will be available through the Philippine Airlines website and accredited travel agents.

For travel agents, it creates a useful reason to call clients who have been thinking about Asia. For travellers, it is a chance to plan early and save.

And one old rule of airfare shopping is worth remembering: the best bargain often goes to the person who booked first.

Years in Australia’s finest travel agencies taught her the art of calm, how to find a flight in a fog of cancellations, how to soothe a traveller when luggage wanders, how to turn nine frantic days in Europe into something resembling sense. Qualified, seasoned, endlessly patient, she learned that good travel advice is part logistics, part listening.
But the storyteller in her was always waiting its turn. Writing offered a new map, a way to turn experience into reflection, detail into delight. At Global Travel Media, Sandra now writes the truths only insiders know: the mishaps, the laughter, the grace found between gates and goodbyes. She reminds us that travel, for all its fuss, is still one of life’s better ideas.
