Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok celebrates the first anniversary of The China House by Chef Fei this August with the return of Michelin-starred Chef Fei for a limited engagement from 23 to 25 August 2026.
Created exclusively for the anniversary, Chef Fei has designed special lunch and dinner menus showcasing his contemporary interpretation of Chaoshan and Cantonese cuisine. The menus feature signature dishes such as double-boiled duck consommé with aged tangerine peel and fish maw and Wok-fried Phuket lobster with Thai basil and Shacha sauce.
Created especially for the anniversary, the lunch and dinner menus showcase Chef Fei’s contemporary interpretation of Chaoshan and Cantonese cuisine through signature dishes including Double-boiled duck consommé with aged tangerine peel and fish maw, Superior yellow croaker soup, Steamed prawn with Huadiao wine and velvety egg and Wok-fried Phuket lobster with Thai basil and Shacha sauce. Together, they reflect his philosophy of balance, seasonality and respect for natural flavour. The menus will be available from 23 August to 30 September 2026.
Available from 23 August to 30 September 2026, the anniversary menus extend the celebrations beyond Chef Fei’s visit.
During his visit, Chef Fei will be present for both lunch and dinner services on 23, 24 and 25 August, giving guests the opportunity to experience his cuisine and meet him in person.
The celebrations begin on 23 August with a series of traditional festivities, including a dragon dance and a spirit house blessing ceremony, symbolising prosperity, good fortune and the continued success of The China House by Chef Fei. Additional family-friendly activities are also planned throughout the day, creating a festive atmosphere for guests of all ages.
Since opening under Chef Fei’s culinary direction, The China House by Chef Fei has established a distinctive identity within Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok’s collection of restaurants. Celebrating the heritage of Chaoshan and Cantonese cuisine, it brings together time-honoured culinary traditions, contemporary craftsmanship and warm hospitality in a setting designed for both intimate dining and family celebrations.
At the heart of The China House by Chef Fei is Chef Fei’s philosophy of Inheritance of Happiness, expressed through flavour, hospitality and the rituals of shared dining. Every detail reflects a respect for craftsmanship, seasonality and authenticity, from exceptional ingredients and time-honoured techniques to a dedicated Chinese tea programme that complements the restaurant’s culinary experience.
With more than three decades of culinary experience, Chef Fei is recognised as one of China’s foremost masters of Cantonese cuisine. Beginning his culinary journey in Chaoshan, Guangdong, at the age of 16, he became an Executive Chef by the age of 20. Today, as Culinary Director for several Mandarin Oriental destinations across Asia, he continues to shape the Group’s Chinese dining experiences.
