LATAM Airlines, the South American national carrier, and Visit Brasil, the Brazilian Tourism Board, have come together this week in Sydney to host a celebration of Brazilian culture and travel as Australian visitation to the country continues to grow.
“We’ve seen our bookings from Australia to Brazil increase over 50 per cent year on year, so this collaboration with Visit Brasil comes at the perfect time,” said Alberto Chico Garcia, Country Manager – Oceania, LATAM.
“Brazil offers so many bucket list experiences, undiscovered spots and world-class events, and LATAM is the ticket to these and more. We fly daily from Australia’s east coast to Santiago and on to over 60 destinations throughout Brazil. With the introduction of our new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft at the end of this year, this number will only increase, inviting travellers to explore more of this striking country via our modern fleet.”
Held at the Museum of Contemporary Art, over 50 dignitaries, tourism representatives, operators, top-selling advisors and trade media enjoyed sweeping views of Sydney Harbour while networking and learning about South America’s biggest country and most connected airline.
Guests were treated to a three-course Brazilian-influenced lunch, entertainment from local Samba dancers and a calligraphy pop-up, all bringing to life the zest and hospitality the country is known for.
Presentations from LATAM, Visit Brasil and Foz do Iguaçu Tourism Department completed the event, leaving guests inspired and educated to sell LATAM and Brazil. Hilary Dubyk, General Manager of Eclipse Travel, won return flights for two to Sao Paulo and accommodation and experiences in Foz do Iguaçu, thanks to LATAM Airlines and Foz do Iguaçu Tourism.
LATAM Airlines is South America’s regional airline, boasting a modern fleet flying daily between Sydney and Melbourne and Santiago, and onwards to over 160 destinations. In 2026, it will complete a retrofit of its Premium Business class and introduce WiFi across its aircraft; in 2027, it will introduce Premium Economy onboard, allowing both leisure and business guests even more comfort as they travel.
Visit Brasil is responsible for marketing, promoting and supporting Brazil as an international tourism destination abroad. In 2027, it will host major global and travel industry events, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup and WTM Latin America.
