Ramada Resort by Wyndham Phillip Island is turning dining into an adventure with the launch of Trust the Chef, a new experience that lets guests sit back and enjoy a surprise three-course meal prepared by the resort’s culinary team.

Rather than selecting dishes from a menu, guests simply share a few details with the chefs before their meal, including:

  • Any dietary requirements or allergies
  • Any meats or vegetables they do not enjoy
  • Their hunger level on a scale of 1 to 10

From there, the chefs from on-site restaurant Flametrees Restaurant & Bar take over, crafting each course using the finest seasonal ingredients. Guests have the opportunity to discover new flavours and enjoy a unique dining experience where no two meals are completely the same – for just $65 per person.

“Trust the Chef enables guests to relax and put their dining experience in the hands of culinary professionals, and potentially discover tantalising flavour combinations or even find a new favourite meal,” said Shrikant Borishaha, General Manager at Ramada Phillip Island.

“It also gives our culinary team the opportunity to make the most of their fresh ingredients, reducing food waste while showcasing the creativity and passion of our chefs,” he said.

The resort’s signature restaurant, Flametrees Restaurant & Bar, is a highly rated, family-friendly dining venue set beneath a majestic flame tree. The culinary team serves a modern Australian menu featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, complemented by a wood-fired pizzeria, regional wines, beers, and cocktails.

“Most of our dinner guests spend their days out adventuring across the island or waiting for the penguins to arrive at dusk. When they return, we love welcoming them into the cosy atmosphere at Flametrees. This new initiative ensures our restaurant and bar remain the perfect place to swap stories over great food and continue the day’s journey through a whole new culinary adventure,” Borishaha added.

Located at Cowes on Phillip Island, approximately two hours’ drive from Melbourne, Ramada Phillip Island offers a peaceful nature-based escape set across 65 acres of native bushland and landscaped gardens. The resort provides guests with spacious self-contained villas surrounded by natural bushland, where encounters with native wildlife, including wallabies and a variety of birdlife, are part of the experience.
