Special dishes at Summer Palace, InterContinental Bangkok’s award-winning Cantonese restaurant, and lovingly-made sweet treats at Butter, the hotel’s dedicated bakery outlet, ensure loved ones have perfect opportunities to say, “thank you” to meretricious mums this Mother’s Day.
From 11–13 August 2026, celebrate Mother’s Day at Summer Palace with two exceptional set menu experiences created for both intimate family gatherings and larger family celebrations. Available for lunch and dinner, the menu for small families of 4 to 6 persons presents authentic flavours inspired by the streets of Hong Kong, beginning with appetisers of jellyfish with chilli sauce and cucumber, barbecued pork, and roasted whole Peking duck Hong Kong style. A classic braised bird’s nest soup with crab meat and bamboo pith follows before a selection of signature main courses including braised black grouper with bean curd, crispy pork belly and shiitake mushroom; poached half chicken with ginger scallion oil and light soy sauce; stir-fried Chinese baby cabbage with dried scallop and shredded abalone sauce; and fried rice with Chinese sausage and taro.
Perfect for larger family gatherings of up to 10 persons, the more lavish banquet menu includes all the highlights from the smaller family menu alongside additional delicacies such as barbeque pork ribs with honey sauce, crispy shrimp wonton, and braised fish maw soup with crab meat and lobster. The generous main course selection is equally impressive, featuring further specialities including braised white prawns with ginger and tender whole red grouper boiled in chicken stock soup.
Both set menus conclude with a comforting dessert of double-boiled papaya, lotus seed and white fungus with rock sugar. To make the celebration even more memorable, guests ordering the set menus will be welcomed with a glass of jasmine cold brew tea upon arrival, while mothers dining on 12 August 2026 will receive a charming jasmine tree planter as a special gift (one pot per table). Live music performances will also take place from 11.45 to 14.15 hours on the day.
Meanwhile, over at Butter, the hotel’s popular bakery café, special Mother’s Day confections available throughout August 2026 feature sweet delights such as Jasmine White Tea Coconut Sponge with white tea-jasmine cream and young coconut compote; and Hojicha Mango Coconut and Almond Sponge starring Hojicha cream, mango compote and coconut cream.
The same fantastic flavour combinations are also available as delicious 1lb or 2lb Pound cakes for mother to enjoy at home. All are a memorably sweet way to honour marvellous matriarchs this Mother’s Day.
