The Rooster, the independently owned retreat on the Greek island of Antiparos, has announced a series of new experiences for the remainder of the 2026 season. From the return of its annual cultural festival to new developments within the House of Healing spa and the launch of a speakeasy bar, the programme reflects The Rooster’s continued focus on community, creativity and a considered connection to place.

Founded by Athanasia Comninos, The Rooster brings together contemporary hospitality, restorative practices and the distinctive character of Antiparos. This season’s programme builds on that philosophy, inviting guests to engage more deeply with the island’s traditions and discover established and emerging approaches to wellbeing.

AN ODE TO ANTIPAROS: THE ROOSTER’S ANNUAL ISLAND FESTIVAL RETURNS

This August, The Rooster will host the second edition of its annual festival celebrating the cultural heritage, traditions and community of Antiparos. Inspired by the rituals and gatherings that have long shaped Greek village life, the festival will bring together local artisans, makers, musicians and guests for a day dedicated to craftsmanship, food and shared experience. Traditional weaving, ceramics, and island crafts will offer insight into skills passed down through generations, creating a closer connection to Antiparos’ creative identity. As evening approaches, the festival will evolve into a communal celebration beneath the Aegean sky. Long tables will be set for seasonal dishes influenced by the island’s harvest, accompanied by local wine, live traditional music and dancing. By creating a platform for the island’s makers and traditions, the festival supports The Rooster’s commitment to preserving Antiparos’s character while fostering meaningful exchange between residents and visitors.

THE HOUSE OF HEALING: AYURVEDIC PRACTICE MEETS CLINICAL SKINCARE

The Rooster is expanding its wellness programme with two developments at the House of Healing: traditional Ayurvedic therapies led by practitioner Abhilash Nair, and a new resident spa partnership with clinical skincare brand Skin Design London. The Ayurvedic treatments combine rhythmic massage techniques with warm herbal oils, with each therapy tailored to support circulation, restore energy and address areas of physical and mental imbalance. Rather than approaching treatments as standalone moments of relaxation, they adopt a restorative, systemic practice designed to support the body as a whole.

Alongside its Ayurvedic offering, The Rooster has appointed Skin Design London as its new resident spa partner, introducing the British clinical skincare brand to Greece for the first time. Founded by skincare specialist Fatma Shaheen, Skin Design London has developed the exclusive SDL TIGHTEN BOOST™ Lymphatic Recovery, Protection & Tightening Facial treatment for the property. Created following more than 18 years of clinical practice, the facial follows a structured protocol that begins with a nervous-system reset and lymphatic drainage to reduce congestion and calm inflammation. Targeted antioxidant repair and brightening techniques then work to restore clarity, resilience and visible firmness. The partnership brings together Athanasia Comninos and Fatma Shaheen, two female founders united by an approach centred on considered innovation, proven practice and long-term wellbeing.

AS DAY TURNS TO DUSK: A NEW SPEAKEASY AT THE ROOSTER

The Rooster has introduced a new speakeasy bar for the season, creating a dedicated setting for cocktails, conversation and music after sunset. Drawing inspiration from the glamour and visual language of the 1960s, the space features pink velvet seating, warm lighting and a curated cocktail bar. Its design offers a distinct contrast to the open landscapes and natural materials found throughout the retreat, while retaining The Rooster’s understated approach. The speakeasy has been conceived as a place for guests to spend the late evening, moving from sunset drinks into a more private setting shaped by carefully selected music and a refined cocktail list. Whether gathering with friends, discovering new sounds or continuing conversations from dinner, the new bar extends The Rooster’s focus on connection and community beyond the daytime experience.
