The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) invites residents and visitors to celebrate Guam’s 82nd Liberation during two special Tumon Night Market events featuring outstanding local and international entertainment, community activities, and Liberation Day fireworks.

The festivities begin at the regularly scheduled Tumon Night Market on Sunday, July 19, at Tumon Sands Plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., featuring live performances by The Corporation, Prominence, Guma’ Taotao Kinahulo’ Atdao Na TĂĄno’, and a special appearance by the internationally recognized Falun Dafa Waist Drum Team from Taiwan. Known for bringing dynamic energy and traditional Chinese culture with their highly synchronized, rhythmic drumming, and uplifting folk choreography, will bring a unique cultural experience to Guam’s Liberation celebration.

Additionally, one of the evening’s featured attractions is the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) Band from Okinawa, Japan. GVB is honored to welcome the talented Marine musicians to Guam for this year’s Liberation celebration. The MARFORPAC Band is one of the premier military bands in the Indo-Pacific, recognized for its musical excellence and service throughout the region. Their appearance reflects the enduring friendship between Guam and the United States Armed Forces while honoring the courage and sacrifice remembered on Liberation Day.

The celebration continues on Tuesday, July 21, with a special Liberation Day edition of the Tumon Night Market at Tumon Sands Plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. featuring live performances from Konference, Trey and Friends, Pacific Cool, Guma’ Taotao Kinahulo’ Atdao Na TĂĄno’, GuĂĄhan Drum Circle, Yosakoi Team Amata, the Taiwan Falun Dafa Waist Drum Team, the MARFORPAC Band, local entertainment, cultural demonstrations, and family-friendly activities.

Satellite Parking

Complimentary satellite parking and transportation will be available at Ypao Beach on Sunday, July 19, and Tuesday, July 21, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitors can park at Governor Joseph Flores Park (Ypao Beach) and take advantage of convenient shuttle access to the Tumon Night Market festivities.

Liberation Fireworks Schedule

To commemorate the 82nd Anniversary of the Liberation of Guam, fireworks displays are scheduled for Tuesday, July 21 at 7:21 p.m. in Hagåtña and 9:00 p.m. at Ypao Beach, Tumon.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the displays from safe viewing locations. As everyone gathers to celebrate, GVB asks the public to help ensure a safe and respectful evening for all by following these safety tips:

  • Do not gather near the designated fireworks launch sites and follow directions from public safety personnel.
  • Pet owners are encouraged to secure pets that may be frightened by loud fireworks.
  • Families are encouraged to check on the well-being of veterans, manĂĄmko’, and loved ones who may have sensitivity to loud noises during the fireworks displays.
  • Please be patient, drive safely, and help make this year’s Liberation celebration enjoyable for everyone.
