Melbourne Airport passengers got an unexpected superhero send-off last night when Spider-Man appeared in the Scoot check-in area after airport staff paged for the mysterious “Peter Parker.”
What started as a routine check-in quickly turned into a photo-worthy moment, with surprised travellers, excited kids and families lining up for selfies as Spider-Man greeted passengers before they left for their trips.
Scoot staff members joined in the fun, handing out themed merchandise and helping to transform an ordinary departure into an unforgettable holiday surprise.
The surprise appearance was revealed to be part of Scoot’s collaboration with Sony Pictures to celebrate the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, out in Australian cinemas 30 July.
Scoot recently launched Spider-Man: Brand New Day themed aircraft (an Airbus A321neo and a Boeing 787 Dreamliner), now flying routes across Australia, China, Japan, the Philippines and Thailand until 13 September.
The themed aircraft are decked out in special decals and headrest covers within its interior, feature music from Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and more.
