Chef Jolly, one of India’s best-known chefs and a former MasterChef India judge, invites Singapore to take on the ultimate viral street-food challenge at Gupshup on 25th July, as members of the public go head-to-head to see who can speed-eat the most pani poori in 2 minutes. Expect plenty of spice and an afternoon of high-energy entertainment as participants battle for the top spot on the live leaderboard.
For the uninitiated, pani poori is one of India’s most famous street snacks – a crisp, hollow paper-thin semolina shell cracked open and filled with spiced potato and chickpea, served with tamarind water and spicy mint, and eaten whole in a single, satisfying bite.
A vibrant, high-energy photo and video opportunity, the Face-Off leans into the pani poori challenge trend taking off on social media, bringing the fun of the format to life in-venue. Chef Jolly will host the Face-Off throughout the day, cheering competitors on, interacting with guests and crowning the Ultimate Pani Poori Popper.
