Chatrium Grand Bangkok proudly concluded another spectacular highlight of The Oyster World Cup Gastronomy Series 2026 with the successful staging of the Écailler Oyster Competition 2026 2nd Edition, reaffirming the hotel’s position as one of Thailand’s leading Luxury Gastronomy Destinations.
Building on the tremendous success of its inaugural edition, The Oyster World Cup Gastronomy Series 2026 returned on an even grander scale, transforming Chatrium Grand Bangkok into the epicentre of world-class gastronomy throughout June and July. Over an immersive eight-week celebration, the festival welcomed Michelin-starred chefs, world oyster opening champions, acclaimed mixologists, culinary experts, and premium producers from more than eight countries, offering guests a series of extraordinary dining experiences that celebrated craftsmanship, innovation, and international culinary culture.
One of the festival’s signature highlights was the Écailler Oyster Competition 2026 2nd Edition, organised in collaboration with France Écaille, Disciples Escoffier Thailand, and EDELWEISS. The prestigious competition was created to elevate professional oyster-opening standards in Thailand while providing the winner with an exclusive opportunity to travel to France to further develop their expertise and exchange knowledge with internationally renowned oyster professionals.

The competition officially crowned Chef Pong (Mr. Chanwit Sae-lee) of Chatrium Grand Bangkok as this year’s champion. His outstanding performance earned him the honour of representing Thailand through an exclusive professional learning experience in France, further strengthening his expertise in the art of oyster craftsmanship.

More than an oyster opening competition, the event celebrated technical excellence, culinary creativity, presentation, and storytelling, reflecting the remarkable talent of Thai chefs while showcasing the continued evolution of Thailand’s gastronomy scene on the international stage.
The festival also featured the exclusive Oyster Masterclass led by Adrien Geay, owner of Geay Oyster in France. Guests, culinary professionals, and food enthusiasts were given the rare opportunity to explore the art of selecting, opening, serving, and appreciating premium oysters directly from one of France’s most respected oyster producers, creating an enriching educational experience unlike any other.
