67 Pall Mall, the world-leading members’ club for fine wine lovers, will open its first Club in Mainland China in December 2026 in the historic Grand Mansion at No. 7 Donghu Road in Shanghai’s vibrant Xuhui District.

Shanghai is one of the most significant openings in the group’s history – and a defining moment in its global expansion. Founded in London in 2015, 67 Pall Mall now operates Clubs in London, Verbier and Singapore, with a resident membership programme in Hong Kong, and has openings underway in the heart of the world’s greatest wine regions – Bordeaux and Beaune – as well as in Melbourne. The group is on track to operate 10 Clubs within the next three years, with an ambition to tap into many more locations worldwide in the next 10 years.

The Shanghai Club will offer over 5,000 wines by the bottle from more than 40 countries, with around 1,000 available by the glass – aiming to be the most extensive wine selection in China. From the most celebrated estates of Bordeaux and Burgundy to exceptional discoveries from lesser-known regions, every bottle will be available at significantly lower mark-ups than Members would typically encounter in a restaurant or hotel. This is the founding principle of 67 Pall Mall – applied consistently across every Club since London in 2015 – and it is what has made the Club one of the most sought-after wine destinations in the world.

Crucially, the owners and investors of 67 Pall Mall include some of the world’s most acclaimed wine producers, enabling the Club to source wines of the finest quality directly from the châteaux and never from auctions – a guarantee of provenance and excellence unrivalled in any members’ club in the world.

Besides giving Chinese wine lovers unrivalled access to the best wines from Europe and beyond, the Shanghai Club will build a serious, curated cellar of over 1,000 labels of fine Chinese wines – rare, aged and collector bottles from the best producers in Ningxia, Xinjiang, Yunnan and beyond. Chinese winemaking is producing bottles of genuine world-class quality, and 67 Pall Mall Shanghai will present them with the same rigour and respect it brings to the great estates of Bordeaux and Burgundy.

The Club’s home is a piece of living Shanghai history. Built in 1925 by British financier Raymond Joseph, the Grand Mansion is a magnificent multi-storey French Renaissance-style villa that has witnessed a century of the city’s extraordinary life – from wartime occupation to its role as a setting for defining moments in modern diplomacy, including negotiations between US President Richard Nixon and Premier Zhou Enlai, and the APEC China 2001 summit. Reimagined in partnership with the Donghu Hotel as a home for the world’s finest wines, it celebrated its centennial in 2025 and now begins its most exciting chapter yet.

“Shanghai is one of the world’s great cities, and a place where the culture of food and wine runs deep. The Grand Mansion is a remarkable setting – steeped in history, and perfectly suited to what we set out to create: a genuine home for the world’s finest wines, shared by people who love them. We look forward to welcoming Shanghai’s community of wine enthusiasts and giving them exclusive access to the world of fine wines,” said Grant Ashton, Founder and CEO, 67 Pall Mall.

“Shanghai is just our first step into the China market, and in time, as the right opportunities arise in the right cities we will continue to expand – always guided by the same principle: finding locations with stories to tell and turning them into unique homes for wine lovers,” he added.

Spanning 1,330 square metres across multiple levels, the Club will accommodate over 200 guests across no fewer than 15 unique rooms and private dining spaces – among them a Grand Salon, a sunroom overlooking the gardens, a wine library room and a spirits bar. The food programme will be led by Chef Ang Song Kang, whose restaurant Chef Kang’s Private Kitchen held a Michelin one-star rating in Singapore for seven consecutive years from 2017 to 2024 before he relocated it to Xiamen. Chef Kang brings over four decades of culinary mastery to the Club, and is creating a menu rooted in Chinese regional traditions, with influences from across the Asia-Pacific region. 67 Pall Mall’s signature club classics from London including wagyu burger, traditional scotch egg, sausage roll and many more will also be on offer.

What sets 67 Pall Mall apart is its community, which comes alive through an extensive events programme. Shanghai Members will have access to a rich calendar of wine experiences throughout the year, including tastings, winemaker dinners and events with some of the world’s most celebrated château owners and wine experts. Beyond Shanghai, Members connect with 67 Pall Mall’s global events programme – among the most enviable in the wine world, taking in occasions such as the Hospices de Beaune and the Médoc Marathon, as well as Member trips to visit châteaux and wine regions around the world and 67 Pall Mall’s trademark Summer Parties held in each location the Club operates.

Shanghai Members join a worldwide community of over 10,000 wine enthusiasts across the group’s growing international network.

Membership is strictly capped at 1,500 and will not be increased. A very limited number of lifetime memberships are also being made available with details on request. Annual membership costs 38,000 RMB from July 2026 with no joining fee prior to opening, rising to 50,000 RMB plus joining fee post-opening. Preferential rates are also available for wine professionals and under-30s.
