Australian travellers staring down another respectable winter of jumpers, heaters and “who left the window open?” now have a sunnier proposition: the Cook Islands are on sale, and the numbers are doing more than gently waving a palm frond.

TravelOnline has released Cook Islands flight-and-ground packages with savings of up to 59%, available until Thursday, 16 July 2026. The sale targets Rarotonga and Aitutaki, bundling flights, accommodation, transfers and handy extras such as breakfasts, lagoon cruises, resort credits and welcome drinks. In plain English, it is the sort of package that lets travellers swap frost for frangipani without needing a finance degree and a lie down. TravelOnline’s Cook Islands sale page promotes handpicked packages and notes new direct access to Brisbane.

The headline deal is The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Lagoonarium, with five-night twin-share packages from AU$1,785 per person ex Sydney or Brisbane, and AU$2,129 ex Melbourne. The package includes return international flights, airport transfers, breakfast, kids-stay-free value, a bonus lagoon cruise, welcome drink and free Wi-Fi.

For couples eyeing something more polished, Aitutaki Lagoon Private Island Resort is offering savings of 47%, with packages from AU$3,845 ex Sydney, AU$3,840 ex Brisbane and AU$4,185 ex Melbourne. That includes international flights, domestic flights to Aitutaki, five nights at the adults-only private island resort, transfers, daily full buffet breakfast and a sunset cocktail party. Aitutaki sits 220 kilometres from Rarotonga and is reached by a 50-minute flight, according to Cook Islands Tourism.

Manuia Beach Resort, on Rarotonga’s sunset side, brings savings of 31%, with five-night packages from AU$1,685 ex Sydney, AU$1,640 ex Brisbane and AU$2,009 ex Melbourne. Inclusions cover flights, transfers, daily tropical breakfast, NZD$100 food and beverage credit, a bottle of wine and a Koka Lagoon Cruise for two. Guests must be 16 years and over.

Muri Beach Club Hotel, another adults-only favourite, is priced from AU$2,325 ex Sydney, AU$2,299 ex Brisbane and AU$2,659 ex Melbourne, with savings of 22%. The package includes five nights, transfers, a daily tropical breakfast, NZD$100 in food and beverage credit, daily cocktail sampling with bar snacks, and a bonus Muri gift.

The Cook Islands now enjoy direct services to Rarotonga from Sydney and Brisbane, with domestic links onward to Aitutaki, making the destination increasingly practical for Australians chasing a South Pacific escape. Visitors should also check standard entry requirements, including passport validity, proof of accommodation and return or onward travel.

Bookings are via TravelOnline on 1300 883 887. Pricing may fluctuate with exchange rates and selected travel month, so the early bird may not just catch the worm, it may catch the better airfare.

Sandra Jones - BIO PicSandra has spent a working lifetime quietly rescuing journeys, one itinerary, one anxious caller, one impossible connection at a time. Years in Australia’s finest travel agencies taught her the art of calm, how to find a flight in a fog of cancellations, how to soothe a traveller when luggage wanders, how to turn nine frantic days in Europe into something resembling sense. Qualified, seasoned, endlessly patient, she learned that good travel advice is part logistics, part listening.
But the storyteller in her was always waiting for her turn. Writing offered a new map, a way to turn experience into reflection, detail into delight. At Global Travel Media, Sandra now writes the truths only insiders know: the mishaps, the laughter, the grace found between gates and goodbyes. She reminds us that travel, for all its fuss, is still one of life’s better ideas.
