The Charoen AArt is pleased to share a post-opening update for THE FLIGHT, the first solo exhibition in Bangkok by Barcelona-based artist Ioana Vrabie. The exhibition opened on 13 June 2026 and remains on view through 26 July 2026 at The Charoen AArt on Charoen Krung Road in Bangkok’s Bang Kho Laem district.
The opening reception took place on 13 June 2026 and welcomed a lively gathering of invited guests, members of the public, and representatives from cultural and diplomatic communities. The reception was attended by Mr Călin-Silviu Ciortin, Minister-counsellor / Consul at the Embassy of Romania in Thailand. The Office of Contemporary Art and Culture was represented by Ms Somporn Panthong, Director of the Art Centre, together with Ms Nuphattra Chanthawit, Senior Professional Cultural Officer.
THE FLIGHT explores movement, memory, and the search for the feeling of “home” beyond a fixed place. Presented inside The Charoen AArt’s renovated shophouse space, the exhibition gradually reveals itself through a journey across three exhibition sections: Gate, Cabin, and Above the Clouds. At the same time, Ioana Vrabie works with analogue photography, embroidery, textiles, and suspended installation, extending photographic images into tactile and spatial experiences shaped by light, air, and the viewer’s movement.
“At the heart of my work is a quiet longing: the search for home. Not a place, but a feeling,” says Ioana Vrabie.
The Charoen AArt has prepared an updated post-opening media kit for press and editorial use, including press documents, opening reception images, gallery installation / artwork highlights, and related video materials.
