Coral Expeditions and Australian Geographic are extending their long-standing partnership with the launch of two new A Lens on Nature: The Kimberley departures for 2027, inviting guests to experience one of Australia’s most visually spectacular wilderness regions through a dedicated nature and wildlife photography lens. The new voyages build on a collaboration that has grown since 2018, uniting the two brands around a shared commitment to education, discovery, conservation and deeper engagement with the natural world.
Operating aboard Coral Discoverer, the all-inclusive eight-night voyages will depart roundtrip from Broome and bring together a small group of just 60 guests for an immersive Kimberley expedition focused on photography, wildlife and remote landscape exploration. Designed for keen photographers and visual storytellers, the program places particular emphasis on photographing the natural habitats, wildlife species and striking landscapes of the Kimberley.
Dates for the two A Lens on Nature: The Kimberley voyages are July 30 – August 6, 2027, and August 27 – September 3, 2027, with generously inclusive fares from AU$9,400 per person. Guest numbers are strictly limited to just 60.
Led by Coral Expeditions’ experienced Expedition Team and joined by award-winning Australian Geographic photographers and wildlife experts, the voyages will combine daily exploration with expert-led photography workshops, practical guidance and onboard storytelling. Guests will have the opportunity to refine their photographic skills, learn new techniques and deepen their connection with the landscapes, habitats and species of the Kimberley while travelling in the company of like-minded travellers and imagery enthusiasts.
The itinerary has been designed to showcase the grandeur and biodiversity of the Kimberley through immersive access to remote coastal environments best experienced by small ship. Through excursions and expert interpretation both ashore and onboard, guests will be encouraged to slow down, observe more closely and experience the region through a more creative and informed lens.
The new departures also extend a broader Coral Expeditions and Australian Geographic partnership spanning special interest voyages, support for the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year program, and a per-guest donation to Australian Geographic in support for its national conservancy program. This broader partnership reflects the shared interest of both organisations in celebrating wild places, storytelling and the protection of natural habitats and species.
Coral Expeditions Chief Commercial Officer Jeff Gillies said the new voyages had been designed to bring together expert guidance, privileged access and a shared appreciation for the natural world in one of Australia’s most extraordinary destinations.
