The Gympie Music Muster has unveiled the third wave of artists for 2026, led by the return of Melbourne rock outfit Kingswood, US favourites The Davisson Brothers Band, Canadian hitmakers Tim & The Glory Boys, and Australian folk legends The Bushwackers.
Gympie Music Muster Program Director Bec Anderson said the latest announcement reflected the broad musical mix the Muster is known for.
“We’ve got international touring acts, iconic Australian artists, exciting emerging performers and artists pushing country music in new directions,” she said.
For Kingswood, their first appearance at the Muster last year left a lasting impression.
“It ended up being one of the highlights of our whole year touring and one of the best shows the band has ever played,” frontman Fergus Linacre said.
“When we do a really good show now, we call it ‘a Gympie’.”
“Something happened between us and the crowd where everyone was on the same page. The energy was electric. We’re thrilled to be coming back.”
Canadian favourites Tim & The Glory Boys are preparing for their first Muster appearance.
Frontman Tim Neufeld said the festival had an almost legendary reputation within the band.
“I’ve heard the Gympie Muster described in almost mythical terms,” he said.
“Explained as a musical escape into an enchanted forest. If even half the lore is true, I know we’re in for a treat.”
Tim said Australian and Canadian country music audiences shared a unique connection.
“I feel like Canada and Australia are country music cousins,” he said.
“Canada gave the world Shania Twain. Australia gave us Keith Urban. Together we’ve caused some real ruckus. We take the music seriously. Ourselves, less so.”
While the Canadian band celebrate their first Muster, The Bushwackers are seasoned festival favourites, returning for their 17th Gympie Music Muster appearance.
“It’s the atmosphere, the campfire smoke, the fresh air and the feeling that everyone is there to have a good time and experience the outdoor vibe of a big festival,” Bushwackers’ Roger Corbett said.
“It’s always great. We’ve had so many terrific shows at the Muster throughout the years.”
This year will see Roger Corbett and Dobe Newton bring their Songs and Stories Show to the Muster, featuring many of the band’s classic songs in a more intimate setting.
The latest artist announcement also includes Duncan Toombs, The High Street Drifters, The Humbuckin’ Pickups, Jaydin Shingleton, Limerick MCB, Piper Butcher, Sunny Coast Rude Boys and Tom Harrison.
Also joining the lineup are Belle Norman, Elke Louie, Georgia Blue, Grace Alexandra, Hugo & The Hive, Layla Havana, Rory Phillips Trio and Will Charles.
Festival favourite Megan Cooper will also return with the Cake and Cordial Sessions.
Continuing its long-standing commitment to supporting emerging artists, the Muster will also showcase some of Australia’s leading country music talent quest winners including:
