Get into Mum’s good books this Mother’s Day with the gift of original art from the hugely popular Affordable Art Fair which returns to the Brisbane Showgrounds from tomorrow.
The successful event has extended its program from three days to four days this year (7 to 10 May) and it will showcase over 55 galleries from across Queensland and beyond.
This year’s Fair promises to be one of Brisbane’s most memorable events for art lovers with exciting large-scale sculptures, interactive installations and the introduction of a special ticketed coffee and conversation series.
Leading the speaker panel will be Editor of Country Style Magazine Kylie Imeson and renowned DIY and interiors tastemaker Geneva Vanderzil.
A ticket to the exclusive morning speaker event includes general entry to the Affordable Art Fair so once the conversation wraps and the doors open, guests can discover galleries and artworks fuelled by a morning of ideas and inspiration.
With artwork priced from $100 to $10,000 there will be a diverse selection of pieces by both emerging talents and established artists.
The artwork will also be categorised into user-friendly price brackets of “Under $1,000” and “Under $500.”
Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said the Affordable Art Fair was an instant success when the international event was first staged in Brisbane at the Showgrounds in 2024.
“The Affordable Art Fair gets bigger and better each year and we are delighted they have returned to the Showgrounds for the third year running,” he said.
“Whether you’re a lover of landscapes, smitten with sculpture or an adorer of abstracts, you’ll find something to suit your taste, space and spend.
“We’re proud to be supporting Brisbane’s art and cultural scene.”
The Affordable Art Fair will be held at the Exhibition Building on Thursday 7 May from 5pm-9pm and on Friday 8 May, Saturday 9 May and Sunday 10 May from 10am-5pm. Ticket prices range from $26.68 for concessions and $29.79 for general entry and can be purchased online.
