Bunnik Tours has brought its signature immersive travel experiences to life for a group of Flight Centre Future Team Leaders (FTLs) during a hands-on Sydney event designed to showcase the operator’s small group touring style.
Held on Tuesday 21 April, the event featured a product update from Bunnik Tours NSW Business Development Managers Kate Thornburg and Walter Delorie, who highlighted the company’s latest Asia and South America itineraries and reinforced the benefits of travelling with an Australian family-owned touring operator.
The session then shifted from presentation to participation, with attendees taking part in a curated “Bunnik Tours special experience” at Casa Ristorante on Sydney’s King Street Wharf. These experiences are included across every Bunnik Tours itinerary and are designed to offer travellers authentic cultural connections beyond traditional sightseeing.
Guests joined an interactive pizza-making masterclass led by Chef Michael, learning everything from kneading and stretching dough to tossing and topping their own creations. The activity reflected one of the experiences featured on Bunnik Tours’ 24-day Italian Discovery itinerary, where travellers participate in a cooking class in Sorrento.
After cooking their pizzas, participants enjoyed the meal together in a relaxed social setting intended to mirror the atmosphere travellers experience on tour.
Flight Centre representatives from Nowra, Corrimal, Figtree, Revesby, Shellharbour, Southgate, Sydney International Airport, Wollongong and Zetland attended the event, alongside Flight Centre Area Leader Toni Laulu.

“The product update was really informative and the pizza-making was a fun way to connect and unwind together,” said Mark Kissas from Flight Centre Zetland. “I really enjoyed the day.”
Thornburg said the event successfully highlighted what makes Bunnik Tours distinctive. “There was plenty of fun throwing dough and creating our own pizzas — a great way to showcase what makes our experiences unique while strengthening those important relationships.”
Founded 30 years ago, Bunnik Tours specialises in small group touring with a maximum of 20 guests on most departures and 12 guests in Africa, focusing on meaningful cultural immersion and personal travel experiences.
