Intrepid Travel has expanded its publishing portfolio with the launch of two new pocket-sized guidebooks, The Intrepid List: Outdoors and The Intrepid List: Culture, in partnership with Hardie Grant.
Designed as compact, experience-led travel companions, the new titles respond to growing demand for more meaningful, locally grounded travel. Each book features 50 curated experiences drawn from Intrepid’s inaugural publication, The Intrepid List, highlighting the company’s core focus on small group, locally led adventures.

The release marks a continued investment in brand-led content and storytelling, extending Intrepid’s reach beyond trips into the inspiration phase of the traveller journey.
With more than three decades of on-the-ground experience, Intrepid’s publishing range aims to drive consideration for experience-rich travel, encouraging travellers to connect more deeply with destinations and communities.
From exploring Hang Son Doong in Vietnam to spotting the world’s last remaining white rhinos in Kenya, the books span a diverse range of global experiences. They also highlight more intimate cultural moments from sharing meals in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains to attending Inuit throat singing festivals in northern Canada – showcasing how travel can foster connection, curiosity and deeper understanding.

Natalie Placko, Global Brand Director at Intrepid Travel commented:
“We’re delighted to add these new pocket-sized books to our Intrepid Guide collection, inspiring curious travellers in search of new and uncommon experiences in destinations around the world. Each compact guide is designed for the intrepid traveller. Someone who values authentic encounters, seeks out local perspectives and wants to go beyond the tourist trail. With a curated selection of unique outdoor and cultural experiences, the new guides are compact enough to take anywhere, offering inspiration throughout your travels.”
The new releases build on broader publishing collaboration with Hardie Grant, which began in 2024 with The Intrepid List. The range has since expanded to include destination-specific guides across key markets including Japan, Iceland, Australia, Italy and Vietnam, with further growth planned.
The Intrepid List: Outdoors and The Intrepid List: Culture are available to purchase online and in leading bookstores globally, in Australia, New Zealand from 28 April (AU$22.99/NZ$22.99). Two per cent of all Intrepid book sales will be donated to The Intrepid Foundation, which has so far raised over $10,000 AUD for partners across the globe.
