BIG4 Holiday Parks is calling time on the idea that a great holiday has to break the bank. With the cost-of-living crisis continuing to squeeze Australians, BIG4 is doing something about it by handing one lucky couple, group of mates or family a 365-day road trip around the country, worth over $250,000.
Applications for The BIG Aussie Review, BIG4’s once-in-a-lifetime search for Australia’s next great Travel Reviewer, are now open but only for a limited time. Closing Monday 13 April 2026, the entry window has reached its halfway mark, offering precious time for Australians to apply. To enter, all it takes is a 60-second video reviewing something you love.
The appetite for a great Aussie Road trip has never been bigger, even as rising living costs continue to reshape how people travel. With rent, groceries and everyday expenses climbing, many Australians are becoming more deliberate about how they spend their holiday dollars, prioritising experiences while looking for ways to make travel go further. Recent research shows 47% of Australians rank travel above other discretionary spending, yet 83% say they are willing to make trade-offs to afford a trip. At the same time, domestic tourism continues to surge, with Australian travellers forecast to spend $183 billion on local travel by 2030, proving that while wallets may be tighter, the desire to hit the road remains strong.
BIG4 Holiday Parks CEO Sean Jenner says the campaign was created in response to Australians’ deep love of discovering their own backyard. “Australians don’t need a passport to have an incredible holiday – the best trips are right here. But we know cost is a very real barrier right now. The BIG Aussie Review is our way of saying: here’s the van, here’s the keys, here’s the budget. Just go.”
The BIG Aussie Review campaign will see one successful applicant travel Australia for 12 months, reviewing destinations, experiences and hidden gems across the country. For a generation where content creation has become the side hustle, passion project and dream career, the opportunity taps directly into the rise of travel storytelling. BIG4 is searching for someone who can capture the spirit of Australian travel through thoughtful, engaging content. Whether that’s an experienced creator looking for the right platform, or someone with strong creative instincts and a knack for telling a great story on camera. A year creating content while travelling the length and breadth of Australia is the kind of launchpad that rarely comes around twice.
Jenner continues, “The best storytellers aren’t always the ones with the biggest following. We want to find the person who lights up talking about a hidden surf break or a pub meal in the middle of nowhere and give them a year to show Australia what they’ve got.”
With entries approaching the midway point of the application period, Australians eager to turn their love of travel into a year on the road are encouraged to apply before entries close Monday 13 April 2026. Applications require a 60-second video where entrants review something they love and can be submitted at big4.com.au/the-big-aussie-
